Yes, I miss getting wasted everyday.

Leaving high school is reason to stop.

But pot is way too expensive when you don't have your older brother around to steal it from.

Given that all of my friends would be there too, yes I would love to go back. I am still friends all these years later with so many of my friends from then, but we are all so spread apart we don't get to see each other often. I wasn't cool, or popular, but I wasn't a nerd either. My friends and I were very confident people, accepting of others, and we didn't give a crap what anyone thought of us. I often wonder where that confidence went.

I miss high school in that I didnt have any real problems or responsibilities.. I didnt have bills, an apartment, etc. I did what I wanted and didnt really forsee consequences. But, thats what being a teenager is about...sigh.

Sometimes. I had a larger circle of close friends then. I miss that. I also miss the bands I was a part of. I'm trying to find ways to get some of those feelings back by developing new circles of friends and new hobbies.

I miss the lack of responsibility sometimes too. I even sometimes miss being a student (I love learning!)

However, I enjoy a lot of my adulthood now too. I like the lack of drama and the fact that I'm in control of my own life now (for better and for worse). Independence is a great thing. Plus, I never really dated much in high school, whereas now I'm happily married.

It was hard. Some mean kids but many problems were within myself.

I went from a Lutheran School class of 16 people to a public high school class of 500. I knew 3 people, got lost and was late to every class my first day. I made plenty of friends from different groups, some good people and some bad people. When you are desperate to make friends you don't always choose the best. The first friend I made was a Native American girl who did coke in the bathroom a ton. She was nice and dependable to me but hung out with much older guys, one of which charged me a VERY hefty finders fee when I asked him to buy me beer (I NOW know that 2 cases and a handle of cheap whiskey do not cost $70). The goodie girls I hung out with disowned me when I lost my virginity, I have deleted most of them from facebook. They are extremely arrogant and snobbish as adults. B y my senior year I was really into drugs and boys and was band groupie. I was living like Penny from 'Almost famous' and barely graduated.

I would NOT want to go back but if I had to, with the knowledge and confidence I have now.

I went to my 20yr reunion. Everyone commented that they haven't seen me and I look so different.

    My response? "That was intentional."

Yeah, I'm good, no need to go back.

I miss certain aspects of high school, like I'd like to go back and do the things I never did, like go to prom, etc. I'd like to go back as the cool, popular chick, cause that was not me in high school LOL!

I miss highschool as it was but the kids today that I have seen and listened to who are currently in highschool make me rather blow my ever loving brains out rather than attend school with them.

    Do you miss high school?
Would you want to go back in today's times?
    ...
    1) No.
    2) HELL-TO-THE-NAWWWW!!!! :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway:
Except for MFP, I'm not much of a social media person (have FaceBook acct for deals/discount, and Twitter for news blurb). However, the type of kid I was back then (86-90), I would've been one of these Internet addicts that you hear about playing WoW 15 hours a day and on Facebook/MySpace/Twitter/etc. the other 9. It is very fortunate that Internet access wasn't an issue for me during those years. I would've been 1,000x worse in middle school! OMG! I would've have downloaded porn by the metric ton!
My first Internet access at home (I had REAL dialup Internet; none of that AOL/Prodigy crap) wasn't until I was about 23 or so. By that time, I was able to at least get the voices in my head to sing the same genre, if not the same song!

I've done a pretty good job of blocking high school from my memory. I'd happily go back to college.

yes i miss it, now that you mention it! i was in with the nerds first, the cheerleaders 2nd, and some party ditch/girls on my block 3rd.

that made class time a blast with the nerds. football games/after school/and weekends a blast with cheer. and any downtime could be made into a blast by leaving school after first period with the party girls to take the bus to the beach in an hour and a half or the mall or anyone's house who had alcohol.

    best time of my life.

    except for now...
...when I can drink freely, don't have to learn anything (unless I want) and can take my own car to the beach in 15 minutes instead of fantasizing about living near the beach when we grow up with my teenage friends, enjoy that I actually now do.

I'm in the UK, so the system's different, but 6th form (16-18) was great for me. It wasn't at all like the image we get of High School in the States, partly because sport wasn't a big deal, and there was no one group of kids who stood out as being the coolest.

By the end of the first year I was part of a fairly wide network of friends who would sit out on the field together in break times. A lot of my friends were Venture Scouts and I went camping with them. We had great parties. There was next to no b!tchiness and all the nastiness of the early teen years seemed to have vanished. There was drama, but nothing nasty. I laughed and cried a lot those two years and was so in love most of the time  I would happily do that all again. Plus I got into Cambridge, so I must've learnt something too

Today? I don't know if my High School would have changed or not. I wouldn't want to go to the High School I work at because it sounds much more like my early teens were (awful) than my late teens (idyllic), at least for a non-girly girl like I was.

    Well yes and no.

I would love to go back to a time where i had no responsibilities - but not to high school. I really did not enjoy high school but by the general gist of this thread no one did! If i had to go back i would study harder though and actually give a damn about my uni entrance score instead of just wanting to spend all my time with my boyfriend (the love of my life at the time, who went to a different school).

Maybe going back to primary school is a better option :)
