Started MFP 2.5 weeks ago. 38 y/o male. I wear a fitbit everyday. I workout 6 days (3 cardio/ 3 strength/circuit/P90) My fitbit shows my calorie burn close to 3000 on the cardio days and I am having a hell of a time eating a net of 2500 calories on those days. I am eating constantly. I am a little bit of a heath food nut since giving up being a vegatarian for 2 years. I now eat meat, fish, and chicken (i consider chicken its own class I drink 2 whey protein shakes a day. + a ton of snacks etc..
I'll open my diary, but here's the question. Should I take a weight gainer just to get enough calories to hit the 2500 and that is still losing 1 lb per wk. I want to hit 165 lb pure lean machine. 4lb down already.
Whatcha think? and does anyone else have this issue.

yeah, you're doing way too much cardio... if you're trying to gain weight, up your carbs and protein ... minimum of 150 grams of carbs, add some oats in the morning... and add more natural protein like chicken, tilapia or tuna and try to hit closer to 200 grams... the shakes are only good when you need a quick boost... or post workout...0

Yeah thats my biggest problem I workout 6 days a week 3 days weights. I cant eat all my food back clean foods are very low in calories. I lowered my cardio to just 1 hr a day only so I dont have to eat back so much food.0

According to my fitbit I walk...JUST walk 5 miles a day...doing regular stuff and only do 40 minutes of 80%MaxHR on my cardio days. I hate not to do my cardio...love running, kenpo etc..
I bring in over 200g of protein a day with a 45%P/30%C/25%F ratio.
And I still want to lose weight current 177

Drink whole milk to supplement your calories if you're having a hard time eating them.
But to answer your question, nope, I never have a problem eating 2300-3000 calories a day. :laugh:0 -
Opened my diary so should be public now0

The whole milk suggestion is a good one, even 2% will have more calories. You can also eat whole eggs instead of just the whites, full-fat cheese, beef burgers instead of the MorningStar, regular whole wheat bread instead of the lower calorie kind, full-fat Greek yogurt, cook with butter/olive oil, eat nuts & avocado...
Basically there are a lot of ways to add fat to your diet & still eat clean, & if adding more volume is difficult, fat is the way to go to up your calorie counts.0
