I love my lentil and bacon soup but must admit it looks like something that my children have produced in their nappies.

That Meat with the olives in it. ALSO
In Germany they have another meat held together with a gelatin and hunks of olives and other veggies. GROSS and I won't try it0 -

I have eaten Balut several times. It's good. Very good with a beer. Then again, I am a traveler. Think Andrew Zimmern and Bizarre Foods. Yep, I look for bizarre foods everywhere I go.
Those people are weak though. I eat the duck.0 -
I don't like to trim my ribeyes....
OH and the only part of thanksgiving turkey I really like is the skin.
That's pretty gross.0 -

Zimmern is a wimp. I watched the Japan episode recently, and he freaked out at normal foods. Dried squid is normal food. It's just jerky and he freaked out.
Balut is one of the very few foods I haven't tried. I don't think I would say no.
Squid steeped in squid guts is pretty tasty. I ordered it every time I saw it on the izakaya menu. And it makes a nice accompaniment to fresh tofu. MMMMMMM.

As a Montrealer born and raised I'd say poutine. There are things that look worse, I'm sure, but yeah. Fries slathered in curd cheese and gravy...0

Mine isn't that disgusting looking, but it IS disgusting smelling and that is arguably the bigger turn-off for most people. It's Chinese style Sour Bamboo. It smells absolutely horrendous when it's cooking, but it is to die for delicious to eat!0

callamarri...don't know if I spelled that right0

My mom's German so I grew up eating leberwurst (liverwurst). It looks and kind of smells a little like cat food but it's for people The ones you buy in the grocery store don't really do it justice. She still brings me back cans packed from the butcher when she goes to Germany. Those are hardcore. Imagine liver patte cat food with solidified fat caked up on top. Mmmmm. Really good on some hard bread with some brie. Hmm, I just figured out why I used to be fat(ter). Seriously though, tastes better than it looks. Lots of spice to it.0

My husband thinks its disgusting that I LOVE the fat from pork chops. And chicken skin.
On the other side of the coin, jam (jelly to you americans) turns my stomach so badly I can't bear to use it for anything.
Beef dripping looks gross but is so yummy0 -
Lentils - looks like a baby diaper
Oatmeal - I remember a Ramona book where she threw up because of looking at oatmeal. I never looked at oatmeal the same again
raw oysters - they just don't look like they should be eaten
Some Chinese soup that has what I think are a type of mushroom that looks like lady parts....
Pickled Herring - I don't think it looks or smells gross, but I guess I am the minority!0 -
Dutch snert.
So good .0 -
Doner kebab meat...looks like my dog made it and smells awful with grease dripping out Lol...love the taste..havent had it in years!0

I love these
enjoy Cazu Marsu and the varieties from Auvergne
I've had escamoles (ants) - nice, tastes like nuts.
I like andouillette - pig tripe sausage
but I find andouille (another pig tripe sausage, served cold) foul.
I love boudin and apples
I try to avoid any jellied meat here in Germany or France. Don't like that.
Balut? No thanks.0 -

Oysters0

Toffee crumble. Looks like rabbit food or droppings from some kind of rodent, but tastes amazing, like chocolate fudgey toffee, yum.

My husband completely autopsies his steaks, too. He always has this neat little pile left over and my plate is totally empty, with swipe marks from where I used bread to soak up the extra moo. Mmmm.0 -
A Ritz cracker, with Miracle Whip on top, and an anchovy wrapped around a caper nestled in the middlle. It's delicious but it looks like something the board of health would take samples of.0
