you eat at your bmr, no less. screw everyone else starving themselves at 1200. I've lost 117lbs so far and I eat around 2000 a day. period.

Eat above your BMR and 20% under TDEE
Don't starve yourself to lose weight, you don't need to
1200 cals will send you into plateaus most definately. This happened to me so many times until I started eating more
Good Luck :0)0 -
Trust in the MFP calculation. I'm down 65ish strictly following MFP, including eating back most if not all of my exercise calories. THEN, if it's not working after a few months, you can monkey with it.0

Hi! Im 5'5, 24yrs old and 230IBs... I eat 1500 cals a day and that seems to to be working for me. I lose about 1Lbs a week, and I do my daily exercise. I found eating 1200 made me want to snack more late at night0

I see the 1200 calories a lot since I joined, but it's so not for everyone. My demographic is different than yours (27, 203 lbs, and 5' 11"), but I'm trusting what the MFP is telling me I should eat (which is 1700, but I always go under cause I never know when my husband wants to drink at night). I think it's a safe bet.0

I'm 5'4, 28 years old, and my starting weight was 205. MFP calculated my daily intake at 1200 calories. Here is my progress...
Week 1 - down 5 lbs
Week 2 - down 3 lbs
Week 3 - down 2 lbs
Week 4 - down 3 lbs
Week 5 - down 2 lbs
I'm currently down 15 lbs; although, I'm sure it will slow down to a steady 1 - 2 lb loss per week very soon. I do add in about 20 - 30 minutes of walking or circut training (Jillian Michaels' kickboxing and 30 Day Shred videos are awesome) about 3 times a week. Good luck in your journey!0
