I made them with old fashioned rolled oats, and I managed to make them turn out fine. I did notice thought at when I mixed the banana and oats together, the oats didn't absorb much of the banana, so I heated it in the microwave (at a 1/3 power. Not hot enough to cook anything, just enough to make it toasty warm) and then let it set for about 15 minutes. The oats a sorbet more moisture, and the cookies turned out great!I wonder if these would work with the old-fashioned (not quick or instant) oats. They sound yummy!0 -

Quick Oatmeal is usually pre-cooked so that you can just add boiling water or cook it for a minute in the microwave. It's just a type of oats you can buy. Other types would be old fashioned, steel cut ...0

I've made these! They are yummy. the next time I make them, I am going to try replacing the banana with unsweetened applesauce. I plan to add cinnamon, chopped walnuts and raisins! Then it will be like an oatmeal raisin cookie. I also think you could use pumpkin puree with ginger and pecans.
Also, these are GREAT snacks for fueling for a run or cardio work out. Eat them about an hour and a half before the work out... You will be surprised by the difference it will make for your energy.0 -
