NSV - first "You've lost weight!" When was yours?

  • I've lost 4 pounds in 11 days. My father-in-law, kind of forgetful, came over to the house and cheerfully asked, "you're looking good. Have you put on weight?"

I'm not sure if that's an NSV or not. I think not, probably, but he noticed a difference of SOME sort . . .:)
  • about a week after working out co workers and patients noticed would of been about 6 lbs lost, I seem to be loosing more inches then weight though...but i suppose i'll take it for now;)

My SO said that I have an hourglass figure (about a week ago?). I hadn't even really lost much weight at that point (maybe 5 pounds, tops?), but I'd never been told that I had an hourglass figure. I'd never noticed it in myself, either. And now I do. *glowing smile*

    Ya beat me to it!
  • I was surprised with mine - no one noticed until I had lost 25-30 lbs. I've lost 58 and I still have some people who haven't noticed.

Don't worry! I'm sure that everyone has noticed, with that much weight gone how couldn't they have!!

It was really bothering me that people at work hadn't said anything to me, then one day last week the guys upstairs said it was because they didn't want me to take it in a bad way.

Stick to it and great work! :)
  • I've had a few, but my proudest:
    1) After doing the hardest workout I had ever done with my trainer, another gym goer chased me down in the parking lot and said "Wow, you looked really really great out there. I would've given up not even half way through the stuff they were having you do."

    2) Able to fit in AND ZIP the smallest size jeans I can EVER remember from my childhood to now.

    3) My big goal for the year is to be itty bitty at my sister's wedding, and the bridesmaid dress I got just a month ago is already too big :)

it was about 7 months and 18lbs before anyone (my mother) noticed. and the only reason she noticed was because I tried on a pair of trousers that used to be tightly fitted on me, and they fell straight to the floor

it was a few months again and a few more pounds after that before anyone else noticed (my mother-in-law when she gave me a hug). apart from those two, no-one else noticed :ohwell: but on the bright side, at least now that I've gained 10 lbs of it back, no-one has noticed that either

After 6 weeks and 17lbs, my in-laws commented, but I hadn't seen them during that 6 weeks, so I think it was less gradual, and more impact. No one I see on a regular basis has commented yet. I definitely see a difference though, and so does my husband.

Being so tall, 6ft, I have a lot of places to hide the weight, so I'm sure it's going to be awhile. 19 lbs is just a drop in the bucket. LOL

No comments yet, but I am fitting into a couple of skirts that I couldn't zip up before.

I had one today, too -- my manicurist asked me if I'd lost weight. When I said "yes" she said "you look good."
  • The first person that noticed on me was a coworker at about 20-30 pounds. They noticed because the pants that were too tight orignally were way too loose now.
I heard somewhere when I first started a year ago "It takes 10 pounds for you to notice, 15 pounds for friends to notice, 20 pounds for family to notice. I had co-workers who I sat next to every day for a year not notice the first 30 pounds, when I didn't see them for a few months at 50 they DEFINITELY noticed. People get used to seeing you, and don't notice little changes slowly.

    Keep up the good work!

It was after I lost about 20 pounds. I do volunteer work and one woman I work with said, "I don't mean this in a negative way...but you need to buy some new slacks, you look great but those are really baggy!" Sure made my day and I went out and bought some new slacks!

Nothing yet, but 11lbs down when you start out having to lose about 150lbs is a drop in the bucket. Still, it'll be nice when it starts becoming noticeable!

It was over 2 stone before anyone noticed my loss! I knew though, and I felt so much better. Again little things like clothes fitting again (whole 'reclaimed' wardrobe!) and noticing how my shape was changing.

I received the first comment about 20 lbs in from my co-workers (mind you, I dropped 10-11 lbs before joining MFP). I'm getting it quite frequently now ("What's your secret?" "MyFitnessPal and counting calories.")

Yup. Even more annoying (hiding weight) if you, like my wife and I, can carry lots of weight. Most people look at me and never guess that I'm just under 220 lbs.

My inlaws noticed a few weeks ago and my mom just noticed this past weekend. My husband has been steadily making comments, so he keeps me motivated. My friends have yet to notice...

I've lost 12 pounds so far and my parents have mentioned it, but I'm not sure if that's just them trying to be nice because I'm actually really trying or if they can actually tell. But people from work who know about me trying to lose weight have asked if I've seen any results, so obviously they can't tell.
