At the beginning of April I went to the doctor's for a yearly physical and had some blood work done. I have been waiting to see the results of that work and today I finally saw them. Well my cholestrol is high and was hoping that someone would have some suggestions for me to be able to bring it down. When I go the test done I wasn't watching what I ate and only worked out maybe 3 times a week. Also I just came back from vacation just days before the doctor's appointment and wasn't really watching what I was eating at all because at the time I didn't care. Well for the past month and half I have been working out between 5 to 7 days a week and watching what I eat. Is there foods that I should or shouldn't be eating? I want to lower my cholestrol without pills and do it naturally with eating right and exercising. All tips will be very helpful.

When cooking minimize cooking or eating butter.....

If you eat Mutton....that is very high in cholesterol

Eggs are also high in cholesterol, Whole Milk Dairy Product, Icecream and Certain Shell Fish (Like Shrimp)

You can also review this article to get more info.....http://cholesterol.emedtv.com/cholesterol/cholesterol-lowering-diet.html

Working out also will help alot.....

    Goodluck

My Dad has been successful in reducing his cholesterol from the upper 200s/low 300s in eating a "whole foods" diet and avoiding sugars, processed foods, and starches. He also has to watch blood sugar levels and sticks with whole grains (in moderate portions), nuts, meats, and eggs. Foods like this can increase HDL levels and lower LDL levels as well as triglycerides.

Dietary cholesterol content in food does not automatically equal elevated cholesterol levels. High triglycerides / High LDL particles are linked to excessive refined carbohydrate consumption.

For 3 years I had 200-210 cholestorol and during those years I ate eggs very rarely, little vegetables/salad and no exercise.

Since February I've been exercising 6 days a week, eat vegetables daily but also eat about 6 eggs a week and my cholestorol is down to 150. So, exercise and eat your veggies and it will come down and then eggs aren't evil either.

Although my Total cholestrol is within range..I have high LDL and High triglycerides with Low HDL (the good Cholestrol).

My Doc Suggested avoiding white rice/Red Meat/Processed foods/HFCS

I am now having more whole grains/Fibre/Fruits etc.

Will let you know if it works...I am due for a blood work in June 1st week
  • Hi, my sister has very high cholesterol and the doctor was putting on her on meds and she asked if she could try bringing it down herself through diet.

She eats oatmeal every morning and cut out alot of the fats and eats healtheir. Her cholesterol dropped 30 points by just doing that and exercising too.

Also i read that 12 ounces of apple juice (100 % juice) will bring your cholesterol down too. I have been drinking apple juice for about a month and will also go get tested and hopefully this will have helped me too.

Write me if you want at commit2change@aol.com Also check out the www.pauleugene.com websites for exercises as well as www.lossnow.com . They both have great exerecises and easy on the body too.
