Water - Drinking more and more, some advice?

About 12 days ago I started drinking more water, 2 litres a day (just regular water, nothing else in it.) I found it hard to begin with but now, nearly a fortnight on I have found that 2 litres is just not enough and for the last few days I've been drinking nearer 4 litres, because I have felt I needed to. Is that quite common, to find it hard to start with but then suddenly find it really, really easy?

I guess I can't speak for everyone, but yes, this was EXACTLY my experience. I used to drink a diet mountain dew in the morning and another in the afternoon, and if I drank any water at all it was a success.

Since I started back on all this in January, I've gotten back into drinking a ton of water (it also helps that they got a sweet ice/water machine in the break room at work recently). I have a 1 liter camelbak bottle, and most days I will fill it up four times.

So yeah, it seems to me that when you start drinking more, your body starts to kind of expect it, and you get thirsty if you DON'T drink that much :)

OK, my rule of thumb for water is 1/2 your body weight in fluid oz. per day, more during exercise. If my math is right, you're drinking enough for about 270lbs. Without knowing your weight, it's hard to tell if that is too much.
