Best exercise for stomach/hips?

Hi,
Im just wondering if any of ye lovely people have tips on the best exercises to tone up my stomach and hip region?. Im new to this whole exercise so lots detail of detail would be much appreciated.

    Pilates for core and legs! :) or even some yoga.

    Russian Twists with a 20 pound weight seems to work well for me.
    also "Hip Drops"... more of a 'waist' exercise, but nice.

    DiveBomber Push Ups I can feel in my hips the next day.

    Squats and Lunges are good for the butt, which can help with the hi shape, I guess.

    If you have free access to the gym at school, start going there and do the treadmill for 30 minutes and then use the weight machines, one day the upper body, the next the lower body and leave at least 48 hours for each muscle area you exercised so they can heal. If you feel more comfortable, go at a time that the gym is pretty empty, until you get used and feel more confident in exercising and have built stamina. Otherwise, try youtube, they have many fitness videos like jillians.
