Spotting after a workout?

Hey gals,
I have a question.... do you ever spot small amounts of blood after working out? Not a lot like your regular period, just a tiny bit when you wipe after using the toilet. Is there other symptoms that come with it like; pressure and tenderness around the abdomen area.
Thanks...

If you are spotting and having abdominal tenderness I would go get checked by a doctor if its not related to TOM. I doubt it's caused by exercise but more likely the exercise exasperating an underlying issue.0

I did spot too. When I 1st started walking 3 yrs ago I felt like I was spotting all the time. My periods got very light and became very irregular. I kept telling my doctor but he wasnt concerned at all. Last year my exercising got alot more intense and I would still see spotting but not quite as often. The last 2 months I havent seen any spotting and my periods have been on time & more normal...just for 2 months. I googled it and seems that it happens to women who exercise but to be safe I would let your Dr. know.0

I have that too, not necessarily right after I workout, but moreso just when I start working out on a regular basis again. I did a bit of research and also told my doc about it just recently, and she wasn't too worried either. From what I read, if you're losing weight, or even losing fat and gaining muscle (but remaining a similar weight), your body's hormones change to adjust, and thus spotting. Also, with strength training your body will product more testosterone as a result (which is a healthy thing, also nothing to worry about), and can lead to spotting. I spotted a lot the summer I gained weight too; I'm assuming my body had to readjust my hormone levels at a 20+ pound weight as well. It may just take some time for your body to adjust.
Talk to your doc in more detail if you're too worried, but sounds normal from what I've experienced and read up on.0
