I just want to celebrate cos I have just moved off the zero on the slider scale.
I have just come back from SW and have lost 6.5lbs in my 1st week. It doesn't show on here cos I did a fad diet lost 9lbs in one week, then joined MFP and over the next few couple of weeks put back on 10. So Captain Sensible here from now on.
Anyone else feel like they can't get motivated to sustain changing their eating habits?
Being a veteran dieter I would welcome any support as I'm usually good for the first couple of weeks then fail miserably so plse add me coz I need help.

It takes time and you have to be patient. I dont feel deprived or hungry at all now. 1 or 2 pounds a week is a great accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself.0

I will tell you what worked for me. I gave it 2 weeks. I admit, I was skeptical. But when I complained to my doctor that even though I was working out, I was still gaining weight, she even said..."Count your calories". So, I tried MFP, gave it 2 weeks, stayed within or less than my assigned calories, and REFUSED to weigh myself for 2 weeks. On the 2 week mark, since I did not have a scale, I went back to the doctor's office just to weigh in on their scale for an accurate weight. SIX POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!
Now THAT is all the motivation I need. That and sugar free jello is my go to snack when I just have to have something sweet.
Stay with it!!! and good luck!
Oh! I did buy a scale after that, but after weighing to see what that scale said on the same day I weighed at the office, I have not been on it since. A week from this Thursday will be the second 2 week mark, and I will weigh then. I don't care for the pressure I put on myself by weighing daily. Yuck.0 -
Thank you all fir sharing your congratulations and stories. In truth you gotta do what you gotta do to get what you wanna get. I still had the fad diet mind set. Now that I'm putting in the work the slider is moving yeah!0
