low impact with good results

Hey,
due to an old knee injury, i cant seem to do workouts with high impact , i cant jog or do lunges or do insanity or jillian micheals dvds or do most of hiit workout and ive been working on the elliptical but i cant see alot of changes .. can you guys recommend any kind of workout with good results which has low impact on knees !!

    If you have access to a pool, that is a good alternative, especially if you incorportate water "weights" or fins. Also bike, elliptical, resistance. If you are carrying excess weight, as that comes off, your knees will also feel better and you may be able to increase your intensity some. If you don't mind me asking, what was the injury? And you can always ice after working out which will help pain in the knee.
