Best workout time for max results

So I have been working out in the evening as I hate to get up early. But I have felt better working out in the morning, such a problem! Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe add in something mid day?

Honestly, there is no bad time to exercise. It's exercise - the time of day is irrelevant to the results you achieve. The effort and quality of exercise are more of an indicator of the type of results you'll get.

I'm a night owl. Lift anywhere from 9-midnight each time. No problems.

I can only judge by what i'm doing which atm im on leave from work this week so can go twice a day or atleast exercise intensly twice.

Morning is meant to be better since thats when your motabilism is fired up and ready to go, and during the day it slowly slows down as your energy levels deplete not to mention working out b4 sleeping could lead to an increase in brain activity and thus make it harder to sleep, least it does for me.

but obviously people who work early like i do (5am wake up call) can't train b4 work so they'd be screwed if that were the golden rule.

Working out in the morning gives you boosted energy for the rest of the day and your motabilism can burn off what you are intaking during the day, working out after all your meals is just getting rid of what you had (maybe) but doesn't help with the buildup during the day. Least thats my theory.

If you can work out in the morning (early is better then mid morning), do it. and then as you said throw in another thing like brisk walking later in the day. thats what i have been doing this week for the most part. Some swear by training b4 meals then eating after the session too. WHich is the way i use to do it when i was doing martial arts 9hrs a week. I could never train on a full stomach.

    Precisely at 4:27 PM.

Just kidding. When you have the time to work out is the best time.

Or I should say "when you MAKE the time to work out is the best time."

Sleep is important to weight loss, too. Are you able to go to sleep and get 7-8 hours a night? When I exercise at night I'm up till all hours, it gets me revved up.

I hear ya. I usually feel better and have more energy throughout the day if I workout in the mornings. Maybe, if you have time, try it at midday and see if it helps. I found if I worked out at night, I was too energized at bedtime or I didn't have enough energy from a busy day to put my all into the workout. There is a group on here for Daily Mini Challenges. You can maybe join that. They give you a Daily Challenge that you have the whole day to do. I haven't got to do any yet, but I guess you write accept when you start and complete when you finish the challenge. It looked like they give you a link for most of the exercises so you can see how it is done. Good luck!!

I love the mornings but th kids get up too early now for me to leave them. I did it at night for a while but now Im busy running around, cleaning and then getting ready for the next day. Luckily we have a treadmill at work and I have an hour lunch so thats when I do it.

My gym is open 24 hours so I guess people go and exercise any time of the day or night. I have not checked it out after 11pm, so I do not know who goes at 1am!

    It's really up to you.

Some people (like myself) like to work out before dinner / evening time so that they have the rest of the evening to relax. Others like to workout super early in the morning, while some workout just before bed so that they sleep better.

If you are a big procrastinator (again like me), try to workout in the late morning or afternoon 30-60 mins after your meal. Either way, just workout and reap the rewards!!

Same here.. I actually went yesterday to my gym really later at night for volleyball. I was surprised at how many people were there working hard.

I usually go in the mornings, all my best workouts have been in the morning.
That said there is no standard "BEST" workout time, go whenever you feel is best
