So too much fruit good or bad.....

I am eating a LOT of fruit compared to what I used to eat..... So my question is... If I am eating so much fruit that I am going over my calories is that bad......

I am working on my nutrition.... I spoke to a trainer and he said a lot of fruit veggies and grilled chicken and I am really trying to stick to that but it does get old.

I was considering the paleo diet too but I just don't know.....

So anyways lets say I have ate pretty good all day.. (no fried foods, candy, or breads) and I'm over by 200 calories. Lets say I ate 500 to 600 calories of fruit.... should I knock that down some....

just wondering :)

    Calories are calories and carbs are carbs. If I'm over by 200 calories because I wanted cookies that's the same as being 200 over because I wanted a cup of grapes. Your body turns both into glucose.

    Unless you're not logging everything, I don't see where you're going over more than 100 calories per day, and even then it looks like your net for the week wouldn't even be eating over your total calories. There's nothing wrong with eating back your exercise calories if that's what you're basing this off of.

    Its all about balance. Too much of anything, even fruit, can start giving us diminishing returns. Now who defines what is too much is obviously an individual choice and decision. Sometimes 'too much' fruit can overstimulate the appetite. (glycemic index and all) That's probably the only neg I would watch out for.

    Too many calories is too many calories. There's no need for overkill on fruit, veggies or any other food category, just eat a balanced diet and stay within your calorie goal. As far as Paleo.....works great for some people because it's fits into their lifestyle. For me....it would never work and therefor would not be a sustainable lifestyle change.

    You can look at my diary, I probably eat all my exercise calories in fruit. I just like all fruits. But I count them
    against my total. I know calories are calories but eating fruit instead of baked goods would benefit you much
    more.
