just started walking

Not sure what my pace was could use any help out there. I walked a half mile in 12 minutes. I think I was walking a fast pace and I was out of breath at the end of the half mile.
Anyone know how to figure that out would be much appreciated.

    If you walked a 1/2 mile in 12 minutes, that's a 24 minute mile or 2.5 miles per hour.

    Start at a pace comfortable for you, and in a couple weeks up your speed. It takes 21 days to change a habit, so keep up the good work with walking!

    I've looked into this & am now up to 4 miles walking per day;

    it doesn't matter how fast you go, you burn pretty well 100 calories per mile at any speed, so go out there & walk, the more distance the more calories, & you feel great :-)
