Help, my toes are crooked!

Ever since I have started running, I have noticed my toes have gotten crooked. I read somewhere that it is probably from wearing shoes with not enough room for your toes to breathe/move. This may be my problem, but I don't really know how to solve it -- i have wide-ish feet and probably need a wide shoe, but they are all too wide in the ankle and slip when I run, so I just stick to a medium width and shoes that run wider than others. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

I haven't noticed a difference in my toes by looking at them, but every-so-often they feel cramped and I too cannot seem to find a decent shoe without everyone telling me to see a shoe 'specialist'. Hope we can find an answer :) Good luck in your journey. XoxoxoX Bru

I would suggest going to a professional running store and get them to help you. They'll be able to pair you with a shoe that fits you perfectly and won't slip.
  • Try a different brand of tennis shoes.. Look for ones that have a "duck" front. (i.e. really rounded at the wides part of the foot, then slim in the heel.). I have wide feet as well.. The brands that I have noticed that make a shoe, that is a little bit better for a wider foot are,
Avia, Spalding, and Asics. Also, i tried on a New balance shoe the other day that had a very wide front, but the back was a little to slender for me.. My newest pair is Avia.. LOVE them.

    I also recommend getting fitted.

You can do a runner's lock on your laces as well, to avoid slippage.

Best idea on the thread, if you're running, you most definitely want GOOD shoes that fit well. You won't be able to keep up running if you mess your toes up. Different brands run differently in sizes and professionals that deal with fitting people all day long will know exactly what type and size are best for your feet!

Good luck and Happy Running with your shoes:drinker:
