Does MFP use your weight to calculate calories burned?

I noticed that when I logged 30 minutes on the elliptical MFP estimated my calories burned much higher than one of my friends calories burned during 30 minutes on the elliptical. I'm just starting out, so is this because I weigh considerably more? Just making sure its because MFP uses our weight to determine our calories burned and I'm not just missing something, thanks!

I would love to know too! Great question!

I usually change the # and use the one from the machine I used. I usually enter in my weight and age on the machine. But as far as weights and stuff, I wonder.

I never eat my "extra" calories anyways, I usually just like to log my exercises so I can keep track of what I did.

Yes....my Mrs is credited with a lot less calorie burn than me for exactly the same exercise.
But she is half my size.

Weight, gender, height are all figured in. It takes more calories to move a larger mass. Hence, you get more calories-burned.

if you really want to know the calorie burn, get a heart rate monitor :) I got one recently and it's just great!
