Maybe some what obvious answer, but fresh local veg & fruit in season should be first choice, for cost, nutrition and even green reasons0

Berries
Greek yogurt
Nuts
Apples
Baby carrots
Spinach
Sugar snap peas
Eggs
Oatmeal
Avocados
Sweet potatoes/yams
Those are some of my staples.0 -
And as far as carbs... Wraps/ 100 cal breads should i try to keep that out too?0

The fruit and veg question... More veg than fruit? Equal amounts? (daily)
What do you all suggest?0 -
Chocolate and peanut butter are my staples. . . :-D
Past that, any veggies and fruits. . . I can't live without that. If I go a day with a good amount of either, I end up feeling like crap and starving the next day. Nuts as well. Greek yogurt is always good.0 -

I'd say on average more veggies than fruit. . . but it just depends on what YOU like.0 -
I try to keep my fruit to one or 2 portions max per day, so lots more veg than fruit for me.0

Fruit most likely has more sugar in it i'd go with the veggies!0

i keep these on hands for days when I need a sandwich
otherwise, I always buy:
yogurt
fresh fruit
granola bars
veggies
fish
every single week.0 -

I always have fruit on hand. Its very healthy and easy to count cal. Bananas are my favorite. Fruit sugar does not harm you unless you have a special medical condition. Oatmeal is also very good for a filling. All the veggie you can eat, does not matter which ones really. The are extremely low in cal, but very nutritious and are very good in wraps with a low fat hummus.0

Thanks guys - about the fruit and veg question
My absolute favorite snack is sliced cucumber with homemade guacamole - YUM-O. And very quick to prepare!
I also keep a large container in the fridge filled with veggies already cut in bite size portions - broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, celery, cauliflower, and cabbage. I eat spinach in my salads and bake fish every chance I get!
I have Fiber One protein bars and 90 calorie bars on hand if I'm in a rush.0 -
This is a great help for everyone! -- I want to lose 10lbs in 2 months its time to load up on the veggies and fruits0

Eat foods that you like. /thread
But really make sure you get enough protein (1g/lb LBM) and fat (.3g / lb) . Fill the rest as you would like.

I am just curious why the first word in this statement. It is unnecessary.
