I am thinking about getting into juicing and need some more input- there are way too many out there
1.have you tried any....whats your fav?
My concerns are noise level, cleaning, how well it juices and how long its lasted you for the work you have put it through and anything else you can think of since I have never used one lol
Thanks in advance:)

I have the Hurom Slow Juicer (Same as the omega vert). It is awesome because it is really fast, easy to clean, and doesn't make as much noise as the other centrifugal juicers. It is also much smaller and you get a lot more juice from the fruits/veggies. It can also be used for wheatgrass if you are interested in that.
The downside is that with stringy veggies like celery, or juicing parsley etc, it can get clogged. It's an easy fix, but can be annoying sometimes. There is minimum prep that needs to be done but you should always wash anything you juice.
I still use it and I have had it for 3 years now. Once the basket cracked and they sent me a new one for free.0 -
I have a Jack Lalanne juicer which was about $90 at Costco. It is easy to use and relatively easy to clean. I use it daily and have had it since September. Some of the ciriticisms of this juicer is that the cleaning can be a pain and the pulp is still wet but these factors don't bother me overmuch. As far as noise it isn't quiet, I would say it's about the same as a blender or food processor. But it's quick to use so only runs for a minute or two.
When I bought my juicer I did find some video juicer reviews online which were very helpful. I decided to go with the cheap juicer since I wasn't sure if I would actually use it or not. Now that I've had it for some time and do use it regularly I don't regret getting this one. There are fancier juicers that cost more on the market and maybe one day I will upgrade but I can see myself happily using this one for the next couple of years at least.

Must it be a juicer? How about a Magic Bullet first, to make frozen fruit smoothies, no ice added. I wanted a juicer, but tried this first. In a minute, I have banana Pineapple or strawberry/blueberry smoothies with added nutmilk, cinnamon, nutmeg. Super quick cleaning, done! Yum. I decided to keep using this until it fails me. Hasn't yet. Made omelette, soups, but mostly fruit smoothies. Keeps the fiber.0

I have the dash juicer and its awesome! You can pretty munch put it in the dishwasher or hand wash it which was so easy and fast. It works great but it is pretty loud. No more loud than a blender.
My fave recipe I found was this:
1 cucumber
3 carrots
1 LARGE bunch of kale
1 honey crisp apple
1/2 Granny Smith apple
You need to drink it right away otherwise the juice you make with oxidize. It can also go bad very fast. I would deff recommend watching fat sick and nearly dead. It's a nice informative documentary.0 -
0501- is that movie on regular tv or cable?? I would like to see it and show my fiancee as well. that sounds really good and healthy:)
Suzq- yes it does because I would like to do the veggies too- to keep some fiber I could always add in some of the pulp back in - I agree that fiber is important:) I think I have heard of one they had on HSN quite a while ago that saved most of the pulp into the juice???
thank you Dobe and Querian for your info- I will check into each of those as well!!0 -

I watched this:

Then I bough this:

Then I read this:

Now thinking of getting this:

I have replaced my lunch with a green drink, everyday. I make it in my Breville and pour it into 2 24oz POLAR bottles and put them on my bike when I ride to work. Easiest lunch ever. I am looking into a blender for the fiber.
Edit: I also read about this one which is supposed to NOT burn the nutrients out of veggies....too late for me though.

My mom-in-law got a high quality Breville juicer that juiced pretty much everything well with minimal juice in the pulp area and was pretty easy to clean up.
But after my husband and I got a Ninja Blender and started doing green smoothies in that, the in-laws ditched their juicer and bought a Ninja as well. It's cheaper per glass because nothing is being wasted, so you don't have to put in five apples and a bag of carrots to get just one glass of juice. Plus you are retaining all of the fiber and nutrients from the skin and flesh of the fruits and veggies that get tossed aside in a juicer.
I've always loved my green smoothies. And they found that they were more filling, tastier, and gave them all of the other same positive effects they were getting from the juice.
My basic green smoothie recipe is (makes two big smoothies):
1 1/4 cup water
1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1 scoop (28g) Unsweetened Vanilla Protein Powder
85g Spinach
85g Kale
85-100g Carrots
75-90g Bell Pepper (red or green, I prefer red, but buy whichever is cheaper)
90-105g Radishes
25-28g Avocado (about ¼ of a medium sized one)
55-65g Frozen banana (about half an average banana, just buy them cheap, peel ‘em, and keep them in a bag in the freezer)
55-65g Frozen fruit (rotated between strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and pineapple, just bought whatever was on sale and stuck it in bags in the freezer)
Put it all in the blender and blend until smooth. It yields two almost three cup sized smoothies, at about 200-240 calories each, depending on the variable ingredients. They work awesomely as a breakfast or lunch replacement, or an afternoon snack between lunch and dinner. I typically made it up the night before and threw them in plastic bottles for the hubby and I the next day.0 -
My wife bought a vitamix and we love it. It cannot only juice but also make ice cream, sauces, marinades, coffee and other hot beverages. It is louder than a traditional blender but not that much louder. Cleanup is a breeze-rinse out the container, add water and a drop of soap and turn on for a few seconds.0
