I have done it twice now. Third time is a charm, right? Presently 214 and on my way down. Feel free to add me. We can do this together with all the other MFPers.0

Sounds good, we can motivate each other! I've done it once before but didn't maintain and stopped working out etc.0

I'd love to be friends though I'm just starting out. I'm 5' 6.5 and 2270

My highest weight was about 218 lbs ...
I got down to 158 lbs in 2003 and was at my goal weight.
When I was pregnant in 2005/06 I put on 70 lbs and only 35 came back off again... I ended up starting last January at 194 lbs.
Current weight 155 lbs, which I have been sort of hovering around since September 2012... reducing BF%...
... more in my profile if you care to look...
You can do this. Just take small, sustainable steps.0 -
I started around 236 after having my baby and losing the 15lbs I gained. Down to 203 right now. So it is coming off. Just eating better and working out. You can add me also0

I am 240 right now and 5'7. Last time I did the weight loss thing I was 220. Obviously I failed to stick with it and back to square one. Feel free to add me as I can use all the support I can get! It would be neat if a year from now all of us starting now can look back and say we did it!0

I'm 5'7" and started at 205 lbs. I'm down to 189 now and I am training for my first 5K at the end of April, my second in June, hoping to find a 10K in October and running a 15K on Thanksgiving 2013 (my ultimate goal!). My weight loss has started to slow so I'm trying to add more strength training into my training to get the scale going again.
The best tip is to find an exercise you enjoy. For me it is running, for others it is weight training, and so on. My second best tip is to cook as much as you can. A hamburger you make and one you pick up from a fast food restaurant are two different things entirely.
Exercise regularly, eat a little less and better, and enjoy the ride! :drinker:0 -

I weighed 240 mid-January 2012. I'm 5' 6 3/4" and have lost about 61 pounds, with about 27 more to go. I'm now on the super-slow track, enjoying life and food and eating just under what I burn.0

It can be done!0 -

I was 5'8" and 214 pounds. I made it down to the mid 150's and stayed there for 18 months or so, before getting pregnant. Now I am losing it again after delivering my daughter on Feb 21. It is possible! I also ran a half marathon last year, after barely being able to job 60 seconds when I started losing weight.0 -

Hey, I'm 210 and around 5'8'' or 5'9''. I'm at the start of my journey! I would love you all to add me for support !0

I'm 5' 6" and started at the beginning of November 2012 at around 225. I'm at 197 now.
One bit of advice I'll give is whenever you go out to eat, check for menus online and plan what you're going to order. My husband and I went to Red Robin the other day and he changed the burger he ordered on a whim, and the one he got was 300 calories more than the one he usually gets. It makes it less stressful if you can walk into a place knowing what fits your plan for the day.0 -
I am 5'7" and started at 257...lost 80 pounds after highschool and then again after my son. Am working on the last 20 from my daughter. My goal is 160-165. I am 184 right now.0
