I'm 5'5 and heavier than 220. I've done this before but did not maintain, this time will be different. Reading through here seeing the ladies already at the maintenance phase of their journey is an inspiration. Anyone can feel free to add me, I'm always up for inspirational friends.

Hi ... I'm 5' 6-1/2" and started out at 221 lbs two years ago. Am currently 185.7 lbs. and would like to get down to about 160 or so. The first year, I lost about 25 lbs. and then gained and lost over and over the second year. So far this year, I've lost about another 10 lbs. and am determined to not let other things be more important than my health, my weight, and exercising. Try to walk or ride my stationary bike every day and do a few minutes of light weighs and stretching every day. I'm 67 years old and am finally learning that I need to control food, not have it control me. The thing is to never give up. If you fall down, pick yourself up and keep going!

I think the lowest I have been as a post-two-children adult was 170 pounds and I got there by going to the gym several times a week but didn't really change my eating habits at all. My husband and I joined MFP just a couple of months ago and I have already lost around 15 pounds so far. I have done this by (1) counting calories and, in general, eating better/making better food choices, (2) walking a couple of miles a day (during my breaks at work so I'm not actually sacrificing my time in the evenings) and (3) doing (well started) the 30day shred program (I had to drop out temporarily due to an un-related knee injury) and I'm also trying to drink more water. As you can see from my ticker I still have a loooong way to go!!!!! I would love to have any of you ladies as a MFP friend since we all seem to have similar weight struggles and goals.

I'm 5'7" and started on 01/25/2013 at 224 lbs. I've lost 10 lbs in almost 7 weeks. It hasn't been coming off steadily - 6 lbs lost in the first 2 weeks and then nothing for 3 weeks and another 4 lbs in the past 2 weeks. Still working on figuring out what works for me.

5'7 and highest recorded weight was 218lbs, but that was a few weeks after I started exercising and changed my diet so I'm 100% sure I was 220lbs+

Right now I've been around 197lbs +/-2lbs for the past few weeks. I started lifting weights to try to save as much muscle as possible, so my weight loss isn't as fast as it was in the beginning. I may have gone down since last weighing in, but I won't know until April 1st (I only weigh in once a month).

I'm definitely losing inches though, and my clothes have been getting looser and that's the most important part for me. Once I get near my goal weight (145ish) I'm ditching the scale completely.

I started on MFP about 238lbs, the "before" here is heavier than that, closer to 250 maybe... I never weighed myself.

    I'm 5'7 and in the "after" I weigh 180lbs.

My final goal weight is around 155lbs, it's totally achievable, if you want a supportive friend, I'm always up for new pals :)

When I joined MFP, I was hovering around 201 post pregnancy and I have lost about 22 lbs. Feel free to add me in.
  • I'm 5'7" and at my heaviest..still two years ago...at 220lb. I'm down to 172lb at the mo.
Lost 50lb without MFP in less than 5 month.
Still got about 15lb to go but taking my time as I want to tone up as well.
  • I'm 5'7" and started at 223 after having my daughter. I got down to 177 in a few months...but gained a bit back after a break up. I'll friend you!

I'm 5'10" and started at 210 (my highest known weight... I wouldn't be totally surprised if I've actually weighed more.) Currently at 187. It's always possible! There are many people part of the MFP community who have lost 50lbs, 75lbs, 100lbs, even more! It's only impossible if you're not willing to try.

Feel free to add me! This goes for OP and anyone else on this thread. I love new friends! =)

    I'm the other way round!
I lost 50lb after a break up! Did not eat for weeks..or just a bit of toast.
I guess people take it differently....
