Yep, this is me. I'm 5'7" and started MFP last week at 224. I got a Fitbit this week, which has really helped me get moving.
I definitely need fitness pals to help me keep moving. I love these success stories! Anyone willing to encourage is very welcome to friend me, too! I'm sending some friend requests now, also!0 -

I started on January 7th weighing 237lbs at 5'7! Today I am 208. It can be done you just need to believe in yourself and stick with it. I am more careful with my food choices and do at least some physical activity everyday.0
-
Oh it can totally be done. You just have to want it bad enough. My advice would be to take it in small goals instead of looking at the whole picture, as having a lot of weight to lose can feel overwhelming. Instead i took it as small goals (prebaby weight, pre marriage weight, college weight, onederland, high school weight, etc.). I'm 5'5 and i started at 277 lbs. Today i am 166 lbs- what i weighed in 8th grade! 20 more to goal. Its been a rollercoaster but worth every bump.0

I'm 5''7" and as restarted on Monday @ 209 lbs. I had a bad doctor's visit last week to go over my blood results, and my doctor put me on a very strict diet for the next 2 months. So here's to staying motivated!0

Before 235, Now 171
Wow Amazing!!! You transitioned well!0 -
I am 220.2 and 5'5'' hoping to get down to 160!0
-
You can add me too! I have been at it a month or so. Down 8 pounds. I am 5'5" and started at 214. I am just sticking with small goals. I fall off here and there but I have to stick with it. I am so tired of looking and feeling this way!
Let's do it together!0 -
It absolutely can be done and it will very likely be the single best thing you ever do for yourself.
I'm 5'6 and when I started MFP in April last year I weighed 236 (and I had dropped a few pounds before I dared set foot on the scales!) and a UK size 20.
I really worked hard at it across last summer, diligently recording what I was eating using MFP and sticking to 1200 calories (apart from Fridays - treat day!) and exercising 5+ times per week (mostly cardio). I lost 50lbs by my 6 month MFP anniversary and was down to a UK size 14.
I've slacked off a bit then. Still going to the gym reasonably regularly doing a mix of cardio and resistance/weight and keeping an eye on what I eat but not dieting strictly. So only 7lbs more since then but definitely toned up a little too and comfortably a UK size 12 now.
At 236 last April
At 190ish last August
And in the 180s at Christmas
PS: My journey's not over. It's back into strict mode for me and trying to lose the final 25lbs before summer starts!0 -
It can be done! I'm 1/3rd of the way to my goal of 135lbs, which was what I weighed before taking medication. I'm 5'6.75" and started at 230lbs. So far I'm down 35lbs and about two pant sizes. I eat 1500 calories a day an allow myself weekly cheat meals or indulgences. Feel free to add me.0

I'm 5'6" and currently 225....In 2009 I was 155 after a year of working my buns off (literally). After some heart issues and general lack of motivation (which got me back to 225) I'm finally ready to join you all on the weight loss adventure!! We can do it!! :0)0
-
I started around 235!!! And after almost 50 days im down to 210!!! I got a Hubby to surprise when he comes home from afghanistan in a few short months!! Any one can feel free to add me!!!0

I don't know how to post pictures but you can go to my page and look under photos. I started at 249lbs. which I was probably heavier but never weighed myself I am 5'6 and I have lost 64lbs and now am in a size 11, I still have 40lbs. to go to reach my goal of 104lb loss but I am getting there slowly. It has only taken a year this month so far to lose the weight. You can do it!!!!0
-
started at 227 and now 185. it is attainable. I didn't think I could do it. My excuse was when i quit smoking I gained weight because of that. You can do it thru planning and the great support of mfp friends.0
-
I actually started at 246 at 5'7". You can lose the weight; I know you can!0
-
Yep.....5'7. My heaviest was 236lbs. I started mfp at 192. I'm now 167. I still have some weight to lose. my current goal weight is 150. I think i will reevaluate after i reach 150 though. either way, I plan on being here a long time after i reach goal weight. it most certainly can be done. I find it gets easier and easier as time goes by.0
-
5'7.5. started last June at 231 and weighed today at 185.5. halfway there. the hardest part is starting. You can do this!0
-
yip, me. Started at 256 about 4 years ago. Lost 50, kept it off.
Started here last Jan (2012) and lost 50 more in 8 months.
Size 8 now.
Was 147, but back up a bit, 156 today, on a good day 152.
But feeling good and eating well and I never felt starved or had to exercise like mad.
One day at a time, you can do it.
You WILL!0 -
My highest weight was 352. I am currently 206, so I have a ways to go still. You can do this!0
-
i'm 5'9 started at 242 and im 200 currently.0
-
I got up to 257 with my first child, lost 30 pounds, got pregnant with my second child. Then I lost 100 pounds and maintained for several years.
I got up to about 175 and then had my FINAL child at the end of 2011. This time, the weight is not coming off. I did have my thyroid removed on Valentine's Day this year, and they do feel that was a big reason why I wasn't losing any weight.
Currently, I am 220. I'm only 5'5 and have made a commitment to myself that I will be down (2) sizes before the pool opens.
I'm not too hung up on the weight numbers. I'm much more focused on being able to go anywhere and find something in my size.
:-)
Feel free to add me!0 -
Bump, I want to keep track of this thread. I am currently around there!0
