I tried the frozen banana=> it melted in my mouth and totally satisfied my ice cream craving! =]

but today i felt like doing something different with it!

I combined the following :

1 frozen banana
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
vanilla extract
1 tbsp walnuts (topping)

i put it all in my big and tall cup and used a hand blender (but u can used ur regular blender obviously)

the result: a bit of ice cream?! a bit of smooooothie?!
idk what to call it but it was amaaaaazingg!

u can add whey protein and make it ur lunch!
i felt the protein in my yogurt was enough tho.

totaling at:: 292 Calories =]

btw, it's sooooooo filling!

ENJOY!

I really miss ice cream!! But it's a danger food for me. Even if I get the "good" kind, like Skinny Cow, I can't limit myself ... it calls me and I have to have another ...and another. So, it's best for me to not bring it in the house at all.

The banana ice cream sounds almost too good to be true ... but I'm sure going to try it. And I like your smoothie recipe. Thanks!!

i just realized the bit of walnuts added 100 cals!

so if u skip that step, itll be 192 cals.

don't forget, walnuts are the kind of fats you want, so even tho they are 100 cals worth, they are the kind to feel good about!!

:blushing: question: Do you peel the banana and put it in a baggie THEN put it in the freezer?

good question... im not sure how any1 else does it
but i throw it in there whole. and then peel it when its frozen (with a knife as if ur peeling a cucumber...)
u cant peel it with ur hand.

A friend of mine says that she peels and cuts the banana before freezing it and it's much easier on the blender

Reading something about nanners the other day, same thing as you just shared but you roll the nanner 1/2 in melted dark chocolate and then crushed nuts (all measured out of course) stick back in the freezer for an hour or so. Then have a healthy treat!
