How can I possibly eat 1,200 calories without going over my sugar which is only 24?
So far today I've had 2 Weetabix with 100ml of semi skimmed milk, 1 coffee with 25ml of semi skimmed milk and 1 apple for lunch and I'm gone over my sugar by -1. What the hell? I'm nearly 3 weeks in now and it's so off putting.

I used to be annoyed by this too but now I just don't count sugar from fruit. I'm more focused on my calories, fat, carbs and sodium since those are the things I need to keep in check to lose weight. If I go over in sugar or protien I say no big deal because the sugar from the fruit gives me energy during my workout and the protien helps rebuild muscle after working out. I must be doing something right, I've lost 26 lbs since January 1st0

Wow well done! I don't feel so bad now, thanks0

Yes.. just worry about added sugar.. not that which is naturally occurring. Natural sugar is usually not the problem.0

If your goal is weight loss and you don't have any medical issues that require watching your sugar, then don't worry about it so much. Focus on staying under calories for weight loss, and meeting your fat and protein goals which will help with satiety0

Fruits have a ton of natural sugars and carbs. I wouldn't worry too much about going over on those if they are coming from fruit, unless you have a medical condition like diabetes or PCOS. I do have to limit my fruit intake because of this.0

If you don't want to track sugar, set your food diary up to track other things. From main page: settings/diary settings/nutrients tracked. Change what you want to track from there. :flowerforyou:
And like the others said, I wouldn't worry about sugars from fruit. Happy Friday!0 -

Please don't get discouraged!! I'm going off my caloric intake not the sugar which is in everything including all natural fruits and veggies. Just try to make sure that you are under calorie intake and you're exercising which is burning it off anyway. Good Luck and DON'T GIVE UP!!0 -
I, too, am at the 1200 cal. a day, and almost always go over my sugar limit....I am a newbie at this, but I agree with the other posts, just watch the other things...I do know that I am paying closer attention to my sodium intake, as I am one that will retain tons of fluid if I get too much. Good Luck on your weight loss:flowerforyou:0

The only things I look at are calories, carbs and sodium.0

yup, don't worry about sugars from fruits. they don't interact with your body the same way as refined sugars and juices0 -
I am having the same problem. Seems like no matter what I do I go over the sugars so I am just doing the best I can with everything else and watching the sugars on the foods I eat when I decide what to eat but not worrying about staying under 25 as it is not possible.0

Yes, I had the same question! I had reduced my fruits because of this but the dairy still bumps up the sugar!0
-
Don't worry about it, if you were eating donuts, chocolates etc then yeah you'd need to cut down on that kind of sugar.
But just eat your food and enjoy your results!0 -
Ah, the timing! I just made a similar post because I was running into the same problem with sugars. Thanks for all the great
advice everyone0 -

I checked out your diary, you are way below 1200 calories. Be careful with going too low.0 -
Thanks for the great response everyone it is a real help. I eat 3 meals a day, 2 good ones and a light lunch because I'm never that hungry around lunch hence why my daily calorie intake is low but at least I can enjoy my fruit in peace now haha Thanks again!0

Don't worry about sugars from fruits, it's the refined sugar in chocolates, etc, you need to watch out for. I eat about 3 portions of fruit a day, including a banana on my porridge most mornings, but I don't sweat it because of the vitamins/nutrients that outweigh the natural sugars.0
