I like to add fruit to mine, apples and cinnamon, blueberries and cinnamon, strawberries and apples and cinnamon, blackberries and blueberries and cinnamon. peaches and cinnamon....peanut butter and apples...as you can see I put cinnamon on it always :) but I never put sugar or butter anymore, by adding the fruit I don't need the sugar and butter.

I love oatmeal and make lots of different variations - I cook it in water and add 1-2 scoops of protein powder:

My favorite, Chocolate PB: oats, 1-2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, Dark Chocolate PB
Sweet Potato Pie: oats, baked sweet potato, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger
Mounds: oats, 1-2 tbsps cocoa powder, 1 tbsp coconut oil
Mexican Hot Chocolate: oats, 1-2 tbs cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, ground cayenne pepper
Breakfast Oats: oats, chopped banana, chopped walnuts, sugar free maple syrup

I use oats (ground down in my food processor) to make banana, strawberry or blueberry muffins. These delectable gluten free treats are a great addition with my morning green tea. Yogurt, honey, almond milk are a few of the other ingredients...all very healthy and only between 90-160 cal depending on what you use.

I also made healthy oatmeal cookies which turned out to be amazing!

Can we get this recipe? I'm always looking for new ways to eat my oats!

To answer your question, I usually top with bananas or blueberries and a tablespoon of peanut butter. Plain-Jane.

i like to add in to a bowl of 1/2 cup quick oats cooked in the microwave for a minute with a cup water:

    1/2 scoop choc protein powder
1/2 scoop choc protein powder and 1 tbsp pb2
1 tbsp maple syrup and 1 tbsp pb2
1/4 cup applesauce, spinkle cinnamon and stevia packed
1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, cloves and pumpkin pie spice
    1/2 cup blueberries and cinnamon
i am debating trying a new one that has to do with salsa, and make a different type of meal with it. maybe salsa and cheese and see how that goes lol

I have a recipe to make an oatmeal cake ! it's really fast and easy but I usually mix peanut butter and banana slices it's filling and so good. I also bought sugar free jelly and microwaved it and drizzled it over my oats, fresh fruit, sugar free maple syrup, really anything to stop my sweet tooth !

mmmmm sounds so good! could you please share the recipe?

true to Scottish roots... I eat my Porridge with a little salt.

I soak it in cold water overnight, about double the volume of water to oatmeal.

Then the next morning I add a little salt and slowly bring it up to the boil, whisking regularly. I add more water at that stage, then I let it bubble, giving it an occasional whisk, until it's ready.

It should still have a little bite and be neither too stiff nor too soft.

I usually make "overnight oats": mix together 1/3 c. old-fashioned oats, 1/3 c. plain Greek yogurt, 1/3 c. vanilla almond milk. Pop into the fridge overnight, and the next morning top with mixed berries, 1/2 a sliced banana, and about a tablespoon of granola. Delicious (plain old oatmeal needs all the help it can get as far as flavor is concerned!)!

I do steel-cut oats overnight in the crockpot.

My favorite topping is coconut milk and mango.

I like chop a fuji apple and put it in the boiling water. Once they start to soften I add quick oats, cinnamon and a little bit of brown sugar. It reminds me of apple pie! I also do the same with mashed banana. It taste like banana bread. If I have walnuts I add them in. :)
