If you think, "I would eat healthier... if only it was more affordable..." CHANGE YOUR DANG MIND.

I <3 this grocery store. Hopefully all cities have a few absurdly cheap groceries scattered around!

Why does the pic show six containers of strawberries but the receipt only shows one rung up?

Because it was 50 cents for a "box" of strawberries. Ie, a cardboard box filled with 8 boxes of strawberries :O

I froze most of them, haha.

Wow that is cheap. I am so jealous, 1 punnet of strawberries is $5 in Australia.

So 8 of them would be $40 alone

Stanley's can be great. But better eat their produce FAST or risk throwing a big bag of slime away. Our friends brought us over one of the flats of strawberries yesterday too. Sliced and in the freezer now!

Probably not but there's Henry's Farmer's Market, Sprouts Natural Market (actually Henry's and Sprouts recently merged but at least in my area did not close any locations); there's Barron's, and local fruit/veggie stand GALORE (we have Plowboy's where I live but it's a mom-and-pop place not a chain)

That's pretty dang cheap. I wish I lived closer to the city, because driving 1.5 hours to save a few bucks on fruit doesn't really work out for me. However, Aldi rarely lets me down.

I dont know about you, but i live in Chicago and still drop a ton on my groceries. Meat is the reason for my high grocery bills... fruit and veggies are usually cheap anyway.

I don't eat much meat (partially because it is expensive, partially because I'm too lazy to cook it), so that's not a huge hassle for me. Just picked up some frozen salmon at the Mariano's on Halsted; on sale for $7 for two pounds. Wooo :)
