OOOH I was born there! Its a great place to visit (if you have money!) Now I live in boring Florida. But the clubs are great! The food is awesome! (must try the hot dogs... they may look bad, but taste great)

    I wish I could take a visit, but I have School:ohwell:

But yeah visit Ellis Island, Empire State, Central Park, Ground Zero,Time Square, Canal Street (if you like to shop), eat some pizza and zeppolies(if thats how you spell that) try an icee from a street vendor.

New York may be dirty (depending on the city) but to me its awesome.

Bring lots of money... It does get expensive.

Will you be in Manhattan the whole time or in the suburbs somewhere?

Manhattan... we're staying right downtown... I'll call my father-in-law and see where.

Hi All, I'm in Wales UK and i'm heading to New York for a week during August, what shall I get up too?

Are there 'must see's' you can recommend?

Whats the clubing scene like there?

Just your thoughts and ideas really

    Thanks

    Al

Al- do you want to PM your e-mail address? I have a 7 page guide that a few friends and I have painstakingly compiled of all of our fav places to eat and things to do. I'd be more than happy to send it to you, if you'd like it. NY is an amazing city and it's always a great time. I hope you have lots of fun.

PS All of the walking you do should off set the eating

Me too. I was living on Long Island at the time and saw the smoke that day and I ended up actually losing my job as a nanny because the mother worked for American Express which was located across the street and got damaged....and people got laid off. I went down there about a month after it happened and then have taken a few visitors...it's very surreal!!

Al - long time... how are ya??? I LOVE NYC - you will have a great time!!! Lots of clubs, of course!

Kris - you will LOVE it!!!! Spend a good amount of time in Central Park - there is so much to do, and it really is an unreal getaway from the city. We took some black and white pics on the big rocks with the city scape in the background (a la Charlotte and Harry of SATC - cheesy, but fun none the less). The shopping is also killer - head up town and the choices are endless.

The dining is also amazing- from a nice restaurant, to delish pizza downtown, to the bakery/cafes in the morning... you may both have to indulge just a bit!
    :flowerforyou:

Enjoy it!!! (and then report back to make us all jealous!)
