Picky eater..could use advice

I've always been a picky eater. I didn't have cream cheese by itself on a bagel until I was 20 o.O and never had meatloaf until I was 18 (just to give you an idea). My current doctor advisement is to eat 1400 calories 3 meals 3 snacks when before I was used to eating once around the middle of the day and that's it. My question is are there any tips/recipes/foods you can suggest? I'm about tired of eggs/egg beaters and variations using them but I cannot stand mushy things like (unfortunately) oatmeal. Ugh I feel like I'm at a wall.

Besides mushy foods, what else don't you like?
There are plenty of things you can snack on/eat that are yummy. But it all depends on what you like or dislike!
If you don't like mushy things, try crispy things. My son loves cereal, but hates it with milk. So he eats it plain, out of a bowl. He also hates sanwhiches, but will eat slices of meat and a handful of crackers.
So... throw us a bone and let's see what sort of ideas we can come up with.

Well how about sources of protein that are not eggs or meat for variation purposes? I'm tempted to try beans, yeah I've never had them outside of green beans (which need to be crisp-ish)..is there a way to cook them without them going to mush? I'm willing to try new things I'm just not sure where I should start. Consistency is my main hindrance with foods, I'll eat a baked potato but never mashed. Soup is not going to happen unless it's thick and not watery. Things that follow that kind of line..0

Here are the things I eat. Maybe one or two will give you an idea:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with lots of raisons, almonds or other crunchy things mixed in. The texture doesn't bother me if there's stuff mixed in it. Otherwise it reminds me of paste.
Cereal and milk
Scrambled egg and toast
Snacks:
String cheese and turkey
ham and pineapple
cauliflower/carrots/broccoli dipped in hummus
a piece of fruit
yogurt
Lunch:
Salmon (either from freezer section or the packs from the tuna aisle) with a side salad with fat free italian
Sandwich with soup (tomato, veggie chili, vegetable - not cream based)
(Frequently lunch comes from leftover dinner)
Dinner:
Meat (lean steak, chicken, or fish), veggies (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, asparagus), and a starch (steamed rice or pasta)
Sometimes dinner is more like spaghetti or taco salad.
Last night we had grilled fish, lettuce, and tomato wrapped in tortillas.
Late night snack because I get sweet tooth sometimes late:
Frozen yogurt 100 calorie packs

My advice would be to grow up and learn to eat. People are only picky eaters because they're allowed to be/want to be. If you need to lose weight you obviously eat something so just eat smaller portions of that if you are unwilling to change.0

Protein sources can include cheese, nuts, beans, and fish.
You can have beans that you cook yourself and not the refried type, and then you can control how hard/soft they are. That seems like a lot of work, though.
Hmm.. if you are super-picky it might be worthwhile to visit a dietician to ensure you are getting the correct nutrition.0 -
