Hello, Today is my first day on MFP. I am in my 40's too. my weight has been up and down my entire life. Currently I am at my heaviest ever. Not sure about my weight exactly, but I know I am in a size 14. Unfortunately, most of my closet is still around a size 10. A few weeks ago, I had the chance to spend a weeks vacation in the Caribbean with a girlfriend. The pictures made me cringe. How could I have gotten sooooo big?? I would appreciate any and all support. I am ready for a fresh start. I find motivation in seeing how well others are doing. Liz0

Feel free to add me if you'd like. I decided a few weeks before my 40th birthday that I was going to make my 40's the best years and make it all about me. I wanted to get my health on track and look awesome in my 40's and not look like I settled or gave up on myself.0

7lb is great! Give yourself credit for that. Calorie counting isn't a quick fix solution, its about learning about your food choices and what you learn sticks with you long term.
I was 40 in January and am looking forward to a new, healthier me for 2013!0 -
know the feeling well i am 48 but u r more than welcome to add me as a friend we all have to help each other0

Hi,
I'm 43 and the year I turned forty, I lost about 50 lbs with another 20 or so the following year. Then I met my husband and my patterns /habits changed a little and over time I gained a lot of the weight back. (I'm not blaming him, it was my decisions that put the weight back on). I'm getting serious again and hope to find the key to long term success. I would love to support all of you on this mission!
