Comments on another thread have me wondering, what is the nastiest character trait you see in people?

Close toss up between Racism and Arrogance for me.

    This is a tough one because the idea of a nasty character trait is super subjective. I'd have to say I don't tolerate people who come off as entitled very well.

    I saw a few comments in another thread and then overheard a convo here at work that went like this. First guy "Do you ever go to Hudsons or Dirt Cheap?" Second guy "No I'm not poor."

    Those are both outlet type stores. It made my skin crawl. Sounded so nasty.

    Anyway, it just made me think "does this stuff bother other people?"

    People who say negative, self-defeating things about themselves..."I'm so fat", "I hate my arms"...I want to punch them in the face.

    People who act rude, haughty, or entitled to servers.

    Ignorance....

    If someone chooses to be racist, homophobic, ageist or generally a characteristic that I find to be not to my taste, I know how to back off and walk away.....and by knowing they've made that choice, I can make the choice not to know them.....

    but the ignorant person that feels they aren't any of those things and then consistently shows racist/homophobic/ageist...etc....behaviour through their actions, jokes, etc....

    well...yeah..i can't stand that....so ignorance....

    because often those are the ones that won't listen when you say "hey dude, that was uncalled for"

    i'm gonna say something that i think is MY nastiest character trait. that would be jealousy.
    it consumes you sometimes, and can make you think bad thoughts about a person you generally wouldn't think bad thoughts about.
    that's one emotion i WISH i could get rid off.

    The hardest one to deal with personally? Jealousy and insecurity. And oooooh am I ever a jealous natured person. I'm not sure if it's harder on me or my boyfriend sometimes!

    this makes no sense to me. someone who is insecure (by definition) doesn't think enough of themself to be egotistical
