I use Fleishmann's, it's a vegetable oil spread, made with olive oil.. no hydrogenated oils, only 1g of saturated fat and 60 cals per tbsp.

My husband and I have always used real butter, but switched to Land O Lakes Light Butter about a year ago. Basically it is water, butter and canola oil whipped together, half the cals of butter and great taste.

I continue to eat (light) butter, real mayo, whatever I like in limited quantities and log it. I'd rather have a little bit of the real thing than a whole lot of an inferior lowfat sub.
  • i have lots of different toppings i like

-I tbsp of peanut butter with fruit
    or
-mustard with a slice of meat and tomato, basically an opened sandwich
    or
    -non fat jelly

Normally I do butter and jelly. Sometimes I do butter and honey, and sometimes I just add butter. If it's French Toast, then it's syrup on top! Yum!

I like soft boiled egg on toast. The runny yolk spreads over the toast and eliminates the need for butter or margarine.

extra creamy peanut butter :) love!
  • BUTTER

Butter is far better than margarine. You need saturated fats, don't be "scared" of them.
  • Coconut oil :) sooo good!

I'm not asking which is better...butter or margarine.
Saturated fat is not poison. Butter is far better and healthier than any margarine.

Laughing Cow now has cream cheese, flavored and original, that is 45 calories per wedge. It's 4g of fat, with 2.5g of saturated fat and 0g trans fat. The strawberry and cinnamon are pretty tasty.

    My advice would be:

Continue to eat bread as long as it is good quality - by that I mean not the cheap supermarket sliced bread. Go for an artisan bread that has had sufficient fermentation time. You guts will thank you.

Spread butter on it - it's delicious and saturated fat isn't bad for you. Trans fats are!
