IM SORRY maybe I'm wrong.. but isn't it stated in the rules somewhere in some form at the gym:explode: that you're supposed to mind other peoples personal space??? I've seen this guy at the gym before. and laughed it off... til.. today.

He lays his coat on the side of MY MACHINE and got snickery when he realized he couldn't put HIS water in MY WATER HOLDER. then kept looking over at me during his workout. Last time I saw him there it was when a friend had come to the gym with me... and we thought someone was using the machine next to him so had to find a different spot to work out... then as he left he grabbed everything and walked away today seemed no different.. he stared at me and then basically left but not before standing behind me for a bit... which to say the least was a little offputting and i'm pretty sure he did something to my water bottle.. so that went into the recycling ... why are people so kdjflsdjfaskjf how can they completely disregard other people around them!! IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE FOLLOWING RULES GET A HOME GYM... and leave us all alone.. . needed to just rant about that.

I usually would not say this but this time i think it calls for it. Report him to the Gym. You both pay to be there if his actions are going to create an enviroment you are not comfortable in chances are others feel the same. They may ask him to leave which sounds like will be good for all. Sounds like a jerk to me

Chew his *kitten* out and inform management. You pay your dues too and shouldn't have to tiptoe around that *kitten*. Be bold and stand up to him....

Today at the gym a guy was checking out my nether regions while I was doing my inner thigh abductor workout on the machine... I looked over and said "Excuse me? Is there something I can help you with?"

He got the point and moved on. I'm there to get my burn on... not have you stare at my crotch. Jerks.

i cant stand when these dudes who try to lift way too much, just to look all macho, strain and grunt so loud and then drop their weights on the floor with a big bang. when I am working out i get into a zone and a loud noise like that snaps me out of it. its so annoying. Or when guys dont put up the weight plates when they are done. Like with the smith machine or press, they just leave them on the bar.

That irks me too... but it surprises the hell out of them when I can remove the weights off of their bar... haha.

It also ticks my ticker when they stare at me like "who's this little girl who came to play in our big boy gym" like I should live my life on the treadmill and not venture past "their" zone.

I'm not a man hater by any means... lol But lifting weights is not just for men... just like Zumba is not just for women (there are guys that do it all the time at my gym). Whatever floats your boat... I try to give respect to everyone at the gym and hope to get the same in return... what the OP describes is seriously jerkish behavior and would be by a man or a woman for sure!

True that!!! And the one at my gym faces a BIG MIRROR. Hello!!! The leg press faces a wall, but the inner thigh machine faces a mirror... something seems off about that whole scenario.

After the first rep and that situation... I moved on to another machine and didn't return to finish my set until the room was clear.... lol I wear yoga pants anyway but the whole situation is just creepy! Sorry- didn't mean to hijack the thread! lol

At the gym that I go to in the men's locker room (my wife told me that the
women's locker room set up is the same) there are 4 sections of lockers
side by side one on top of the other.

Each section a total of about 41 lockers. There is a reasonable wooden
bench spaced out with 4 leather cushions to sit on &/or put your gym bag
    on while changing.

Just 4 seats in each section of 42 lockers so as you can see not a lot of
space especially during peak work out hours (why I normally don't go at
    these times).

At times 1 person will take two parts or more of the 4 seated bench which is
fine unless other people start coming in & gets crowded. Until last week in
more than a year that I've been there I've never experienced or witnessed
anyone not willing to move there things out of the way if they were using
more than one changing bench at a time.

I've always been polite saying "may I please use this part of the bench so I can
    put my bag down?"

Most of the time the individual thinks that a lone water bottle, towel, or pair of
shorts etc.. requires it's own bench even if there are other people around. They'll
even use 2 benches for their bag & clothes unattended while they go shower or steam
not thinking that others might come to use the locker area.

Other times if some one is using more than one seat & they aren't paying attention,
I will casually set my bottle on the bench closest to my locker. People have always
apologized and I say no problem then they make room and I say thank you.

I've done the same for others. I will only use 2 seats if I'm alone, but as soon as some
one comes, I will move my things off the 2nd seat and apologize especially if I didn't
    see the, right away.

Well after one year of being there I experienced something I never have or witnessed
before. This guy in his 40's in descent shape was changing and had his gym bag on one
seat and his little pair of shorts/towel to an entire seat all to themselves closest to my
    locker not his.

I gently put my towel slightly on top of his shorts which always did the tricking never
caused a problem. But he picks his shorts up & puts them on top of my towel proceeding
to change on the other side of the bench.

So I politely asked him pointing at the seat with his shorts & towel if I may please
use this seat so I can put my bag down like he was doing on the other seat. The jerk
    replies in 2 minutes.

I said all I want to do issue this seat (pointing at his shorts) so I can put my bag down.
Again replying 2 minutes and continues changing. That's when I politely replied
"so I have to wait for you to put my bag down while you're using 2 seats?'

He looked at me with a dirty look like I was speaking Greek. So I said to him with open
hands I don't understand the problem? He gave another dirty look and said 2 minutes.

By this point I should have left but let my ego get the better of me.

I gently picked up his shorts and towel and moved them just a few inches
from where they were, took my bag out and put it on the seat next to my locker.
He gave another dirty look along with a totally in shock look that I moved his shorts.

I said "what's the problem I don't understand? Other people are allowed to use these
    seats just like you"

He wouldn't reply again I must have been speaking Greek until he started talking
to some one. Lol so much for the 2 minutes.

I realized I was wrong and he was wrong but next time I will just move. I will apologize
to him if I get the chance and tell him he caught me off guard as in a year no one had a problem
    sharing the changing area

A guy just like him used to go to my gym, except that his water bottle was disgusting as sadjkasmd, and by that i mean it used to drip off the sweat from his hands. ew. not to mention his magnificent body odor, and his sweaty mustache. just ew

Is it possible he's left-handed and finds it easier to use the bottle-holder to his left? Or maybe he has an injured right hand? I can't think of why else someone would think the cup holder on a different machine should belong to them. Kudos for you for not giving in to his passive aggressive actions. Maybe you should have said "Are you looking for your cup holder? It's on your right." Or "Can you take your jacket off my machine, please? It's kind of distracting me."

    Grunters are THE worst!

So if I have 500+ lbs in my hands I am supposed to just put it down nice and quiet-like. It is a gym, not a library. Yes, grunters who only grunt for attention bother me too, but sometimes a grunt escapes my lips. Not trying to be mean, but a gym is a place to work and exert effort. Iron against iron creates noise.

The gym I use is pretty good at 'no creeps'. But I can't stand the gum crackers. Fine, chew gum during a workout if it helps keep your mouth from drying out, but there is NO need to snap it like a rifle report every 30 seconds.

Wait, is this happening at the gym or inside your apartment? You spend 3 hours on a machine in one day you should be paying rent, not fees.

Quick, somebody start a thread about rude people that monopolize equipment at gyms.

Men can't help it. Their DNA demands that they look when a woman has her legs spread open. If they don't, they risk systematic cellular implosion and sudden, gruesome death.

Just stay off those machines and do squats, lunges, and deadlifts instead. They're a million times more efficient anyway :)

I spotted this one chick who had a flatulence problem during a barbell squat. Each time she went lower than parallel, she let one rip. Considering I get to stare at her *kitten* up close and grab it without reprisal I shouldn't complain.
