Ok this may sound crazy but its healthy and delicious! (At least for me cos I love chinese food)
50g of rolled scottish porridge/oatmeal
200ml of unsweeted almond milk
2 large boiled egg whites
1-3 tblsp soy sauce
1 tsp of powered ginger
Pinch of chilli powder
Handful of spring onions (chopped)
Sprig of coriander/cilantro to garnish
As for something a bit sweeter and more mainstream (more treat-ish)
50g rolled scottish oats
200 ml hazelnut milk
2 tblspoons nutella
1 tblspoon of peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
Garnish with a sprinkling of dark chocolate chips0 -
I always add in some peanut butter and either honey or Splenda. If I'll be working hard at the gym that day, I'll throw in some of my soy protein chocolate powder for a twist (:0

I just use plain old oat bran. Microwave water to boiling and stir in the bran. This even works away from home; I've gotten hot water from flight attendants to make it on the plane, and eaten it as a snack in a hotel room equipped with a coffee maker that also provides hot water. I add cinnamon; I've gotten to the point that I really don't like sweetened oatmeal. It just leaves a sugary aftertaste.0

I like to make pumpkin protein shakes at night and save 1/4 c of it in the fridge and cook it in my oats in the morning. Recipe as follows:
1 scoop cinnamon roll protein whey
1/4 c. libys pumpkin puree
1 tsp nutmeg
2 c unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp sugar free syrup
40g banana
-sometimes 1 tbsp ground flax if I don't have appropriate fat macros that day
About 8 icecubes
I blend all of the above for a nice shake and then just add a little lef over to 1/3 c quick oats with a little water in the morning and its delish!
P.S. google recipes for vegan/gluten free black bean protein brownies. It sounds kinda disgusting but they are AMAZING! I just made them for the first time and topped mine with some crushed walnuts and that is a quick way to get all your nutrients on the go as well. Or last night for a treat I had a cup of no sugar added ice cream on top of one. never miss a brownie sundae again!0 -
I have a steel cut pumpkin oatmeal recipe. I need to look for it, but I will post it.0

I loooove oatmeal but, I am am trying to eat healthier and the way I am used to making it is
with brown sugar, or granulated sugar and cinnamon, or honey or maple syrup. For me it is
very comforting and I am looking for hot, cold, sweet and savory healthy ideas for making oatmeal
other than just throwing banana and apple in there.
Any to go recipes like cookies or bars would be great too.0 -

You can get creative with different toppings... Love this recipe and it works out well when in a rush (Since you can prepare the day before)0 -
I eat mine with chia seeds and tried it with vanilla soy milk last night...mmmmm...0

easiest is the microwave regular or the higher fibre, add a tblsp of your favorite yogurt - a good tummy filler, and you are getting the yogurt which is good on so many levels0

A friend of mine who is a Fitness Trainer gave me a recipe for what he calls a Sludgie It's delicious and keeps you full for hours!!
This recipe makes 2 glasses and I had 1 for breakfast about 8.30 am it's now 2.30 and I'm still not hungry You will need a blender for this or a smoothie maker
RECIPE
1 cup of (raw) oatmeal
1 cup of milk
1 pot of yogurt
1 banana (or fruit of yr choice)
1 tablespoon of Peanut butter (optional)
Blend all the ingredients well and pour and enjoy
It's quite thick and 'sludgie' hence the name I think it's delicious and plan on having the second glass for lunch0 -
I like to make stone ground oats in the crock pot with big chunks of apples, cinnamon and brown sugar or maple syrup. It comes out tasting like apple crisp:). 2 hours is enough.0

I don't like oatmeal but my kids can't get enough of it. I make it for them by pouring oats into a bowl, adding milk until all the oats are soaked, then 1-2 mins in the microwave, depending on how much there is there. Sometimes I serve it with bananas on top, other times just as it is.0

Pina Colada Oatmeal
1/2 c. Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
1 scant cup water
4 oz. fresh diced pineapple
1 T. Dlckinson's Creme Coconut Curd (http://www.****insonsfamily.com/products/fruit-and-creme-curds/creme-coconut-curd)
Cook the oats, water and pineapple in the microwave on high for 3:45. Use a big bowl, so it doesn't spill over. When it's done cooking, stir the coconut curd in until it melts. Tastes just like a Pina Colada in oatmeal form!0 -
1/2 cup of organic old fashioned oats with about a cup of vanilla unsweetened almond milk. Microwave to desired consistency. Sprinkle cinnamon, 1 packet of stevia concentrate and small pat of REAL butter (not that chemical stuff ) very good!0

Heres another one but its not for the traditional/faint hearted XD i've given metric and imperial measurements
1/2 cup/50g rolled oats
3/4 cup/150ml any milk (preferably not sweetened)
1 chicken breast (skinless and chopped into little bite-size cubes)
1 tsp mustard
2-3 tbls greek yogurt
Good drizzling of honey
Sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds to garnish (optional, but I have a minor obsession with sesame seed products)
Replicates my fav sandwhich at subway, chicken salad with honey mustard dressing!0 -

Steel Cut Oats made in Rice Cooker
! 1/2 rice cooker scoop Steel Cut Oats
1/2 scoop Quinoa
2 1/2 scoops water
Cook in rice cooker
After cooked add another 2 1/2 cups of water and stir. Let set for a while so water
gets soaked up by oats and quinoa. Refrigerate.
In the morning we take out what we need, microwave for one minute to heat up.
Add blueberries, almonds or sunflower seeds, almond milk.
Very easy and quick to make in the morning. We sweeten with coconut sugar
which tastes just like brown sugar.0 -

I make my oatmeal in the crockpot, enough for a full week. I use both steel cut and regular rolled oats. The amounts of water called bor and cinnamon and vanilla. I cook on low for several hours and then put oatmeal into containers in the fridge. I reheat in the microwave and can later add fruit, like blueberries, mashed banana or apples.0

This is not a recipe but more of a find. I have tried many oatmeal products in the past but never really liked any of them to make them part of my breakfast lineup. But a couple of weeks ago, by the recommendation of a fellow dieter, I tried the Better Oats (OatFit) instant oatmeal and not only did I liked it but now I'm hooked on it. It's only 100 calories per serving, easy to prepare, just follow the packet directions, and it's specially delicious if you sprinkle some cinnamon on top. It comes in different flavors but I specially like the "maple and brown sugar" one. Bought it at HEB.0

Sounds odd, but trust me on this... 43g oats (1 cup), 125ml skimmed milk (1/4 cup)... And 25g cheese! I used Co-operative White Cheshire cheese which is 96 cals for 25g. Shake of black pepper, and you're done. Honestly, it is so good! Kept me full because it was very flavoursome. All this is approx 310 cals, will obviously depend on what cheese and milk you use though :-)
this sounds adventurous!!0 -

I've done this too! I use a tsp of vanilla and sweetener instead of brown sugar though0 -
Hmm, and I thought I was doing it right by eating those strawberry and chocolate flavored oats packets.0

My favourite is with fruit spread (I use St.Dalfour because it has no sugar), blueberries and 1 TB of peanut butter.
My second favourite is with 1 small banana, 3 TB of low fat greek yoghurt and the rest is sweetened almond milk, I also do that as overnight porridge when I can be bothered the night before :P
You could also try Muscovado sugar (is unrefined brown sugar and has a strong nutty flavour. If you're eating clean it is ideal!) with 2-3 tsp of organic cocoa powder and almond milk or yoghurt0
