Goal Weight TDEE Method

I went to fat2fit and calculated my goal weight TDEE. Holy batman, it says I should eat 2598. That's my goal weight TDEE. I wonder if that's why when I was eating 1800 per MFP (also adding exercise, but not up to 2500 total cals) I felt so drained and tired all the time. BMR is 1770. That changes everything. I'll try this for a while. Seems like a lot of food for cutting fat. But, ill give it a go. I have doubts, but in the name of science, I'll try it.
One downside about goal weight TDEE is its not taking other things into account. I would prefer to enter body fat goal and see what it says. Is there a calculator out there like that?

I think the real problem for all of us is REALLY knowing what our TDEE REALLY is. I am eating at about 400 less than what I think my TDEE actually is. I am eating 2100 base+eating back exercise cals. Its working for me so far, im down 25 since Jan. 2 So far I have averaged about 1 1/2 lbs. per week. It does seem to be slowing a bit now, I am going to watch it for a couple more weeks and see if I need to tweak it.0

Those calculators say my TDEE should be around 2100. Nope. Because I maintain my weight at 1600-1800. So they aren't always right for everyone...0

Can someone post the link to the calculator for what you should be eating to get to a certain body fat percentage? I've seen a couple people on here post that there's a calculator on fat2fit but I havent found it.
Nevermind- my apologies that someone already did. Thank you.0 -
For sh!ts and giggles I changed my MFP goal to my maintenance weight. It gave me 1,710 calories. That's 70 more calories than it gives me for my current weight loss goal of losing 1 lb a week. Weird. So does that mean the closer we get to goal, MFP's calculator will begin slightly increasing our daily intake?0

Sorry Jerry, I wasn't clear. I too used the fat2fit to come up with my numbers. also, just like you, MFP had me at 1800 per day and I was starving to death. After calculating at the fatfit site, I came up with 2100 as TDEE-400cals. What I meant in my post was I am not exactly sure which category i fit in and if the calculator is close to what I am really burning per day. I guess its close cause i am losing.0

I'm curious how you've set your weight loss goals. I have the following results when I make adjustments to mine on mfp:
2lb/wk - 1200cal/day
1lb/wk - 1490cal/day
0.5/wk - 1740cal/day
Using both scooby and f2fr with "lightly active", my BMR calculates out anywhere from 1479 to 1509, TDEE from 2002 to 2033. Basically, I'm going to act like a zombie if I keep my settings anywhere more stringent than 0.5lb loss per week. There's just not enough juice to keep functioning.
Your settings are affected by your weight loss, but you also have to adjust your expectations as you get closer to your goal weight.
Hope that makes sense, and maybe helps a little bit.0 -
