Honey Crisps, hands down. I'll eat Fuji and Granny Smiths also when HCs are not in season.

I love all apples...except Granny Smith, those are gross. They only belong in pies.

Golden Delicious by a mile, but not the small, soft, yellow ones from the store. Huge, pale green and amazingly sweet and tangy right off the tree. I had no idea how good these apples were until I tried them fresh. Unbelievable. Note to self: plant Golden Delicious tree.
Royal Gala is always a goodie.
I remember eating Winesap (?) as a child and loving it's extreme tartness. Haven't seen it in 30 years. Would love to find it again to see if I still like it.

You might be interested in the current issue of Mother Jones. There's an article on heirloom apples and an apple expert in Maine who's been working all of his life looking for old trees to make cuttings of to keep the old variations alive.

We have local orchards here, mostly Jonagold, Braeburn, and Cortlands, which are extra good when they're freshly picked. .

Honeycrisp for sure, otherwise Fuji, if I can't afford the Honeycrisps.

Honey Crisp is my favorite by far! However, they are so expensive, I don't buy them much.

I like all apples except golden and red delicious. They are often flavourless or mealy.

    Agree with this.

I love Honeycrisp, but what I really crave is Jonathans, and the stores don't carry them anymore. Jonagold is just not the same. *sigh*
