Honeycrisp blow every other apple out of the water. Too bad they're expensive and seasonal! I most often buy Fuji, and I also love local Macouns in the fall.

    Cortland (in season)
    fresh golden delicious
    Honeycrisp
    Gala

I love the taste of MacIntosh but they go soft on me too quickly. The texture of the apple is just as important as the taste. I have to have a hard, crunchy and juicy apple with a sweet and tangy taste.

The only apple I do not like at all is the red delicious. To me, they taste terrible.

Gala. I like softer apples that kinda melt. I find that you are either a hard and crispy apple person or a soft and melty apple person. lol.

Gala for every day eating. I feel it has the perfect firmness and sweetness. I like Golden Delicious for cooking/baking.

I am having a love-affair with the ambrosia apple...so floral and sweet - it tastes like you are eating the apple blossom...so delicious.

Anyone else have a certain apple of fruit they just can't get enough of right now?
I found a bag of these at Trader Joe's a couple weeks back, had never heard of them before. Fantastic flavor & crunch!
  • Pink Lady. Perfect blend of slightly sweet and slightly tart. Great with almond butter for a well balanced snack!

    Pink Ladies. Mmm...

But for baking, Granny Smiths have always turned out the best for me.
