I am a 30 year old newlywed. I know that most people try to lose weight before they get married, but I decided to lose weight before I get pregnant. I am about 50 pounds overweight, although I don't look it. I am just fed up with being this big. I go to the gym at least 3 days a week and I see not results. I noticed that my friend who invited me to this website lost 5 pounds. I hope that I can lose weight as well.

Congratulation on your marriage. You will lose weight if you keep exercising and eat healthy foods. I would say not to watch the scale too much, but pay attention to your clothes whether they fit more loosely on you.0

Having to log all of my calories really keeps me motivated, and having people to listen really helps as well. My best advice is to be absolutely honest about everything you eat. It can be really eye opening.
Try to add as many friends as possible (myself included), because support can be so important at times.
Good luck!0 -
Hey how ya doing!
#1 the fact that you are here is great.
My wife and I are doing week five of P90x and long story short, there is no other program that I have tried that works better. The results we have seen in 5 weeks is phenomenal.
the reason going to the gym three days a week is not getting you the results you want is because your body gets used to the "program," quickly and stops changing because it does not get challenged. The P90x program provides "muscle confusion" which constantly pushes your body to the limits and gives you amazing results.
Put it this way- One hour of the P90x Plyometrics program will burn roughly 1100 calories.....
Running 3 miles barely burns 2/3's of that.
Always remember to eat enough food as well. if you starve yourself, you will not lose any weight either because your body goes into starvation mode. eat lots of protein and remember to include some weight lifting which will build muscle and speed up your metabolism too.....
I think it is kind of fun to sit here and add my food into the "meter" and watch it compute it into my dietary needs. Plus it is really cool to do extreme exercises and see how it affects my remaining calories available.
set mini goals for yourself. one day, one week, one hour. push yourself and make sure you are in your target heart beat range. in order to burn fat and get the pounds gone, you need to sweat like crazy! and drink tons of water too.
Lastly, make sure you take multi vitamins and perhaps suppplement with some protein powder. Walmart.com sells really good and cheap protein powder that I use all the time. It is made by body fortress.
Good luck to you. do a search on youtube.com for P90x and see the results. It is really cool.
Again, i will say, both my wife and I are getting awesome results from this program.0 -
This is the best sight so far that I've found. Making myself aware of what I eat has kept me on track. Good luck and keep it up.:laugh:0
