Hi I've decided to join this site after spending the last 2 weeks using it as a calorie checker. But felt I need help and advice after not budging a single pound O.o
You see 7 years ago I was huge as a house, and just by exercising every day and cutting my calorie intake to between 1100 to 1200 a day I managed to drop from a dress size of 24 to 12 over 18 months. I kept this off and maintained it as a single girl in the UK then I fell in love and bang here I am now in New Zealand with a dress size of 18, being wined and dined by my loving husband and enjoying our spare time relaxing with each other has seen me throw the diet and exercise out the window.
I thought enough is enough, both of us have put on at least 50kg and with health issues creeping in its time for change. I thought I did it before I can do it again. But its so easy to get home from a 10 hour day of work to just grab your dinner and park in front of the TV for the evening. We are good in the fact that all our weekly meals are calorie controlled and healthy but roll on the weekend and goodbye routine and hello comfortable snacking.
I've tried weight watchers....nope. I've tried shake replacements....nope and yuk! I think its just going to come down to sucking it up and getting out of the rut we built for ourselves.
So I'm keen to hear from anyone who has had trouble getting the exercise going and has trouble with staying on track over the weekends. All advice is good advice =D

I'm with you on it all going out the window over the weekends! I can't say that I have any great advice, but I'd love to support each other!0

Well, you're definitely in one of the great places to get support! I've found out how much of a difference it makes to have a group of people to talk with about your daily gains/struggles. I'm on my second round of P90X and each time I joined a challenge group. It has made all the difference in the world to keep me accountable and working out everyday.
You should never go below 1200 calories because your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down.
What kind of exercise are you doing?0 -

I know my food diary has bumped my calorie intake up, will have to rejig my lunches I think, have to add something to my 2 corn cruskits, babybel light and pottle of nuts lol
I'm doing general bits and bobs such as after I finish work I do some housework and I use a powerball for 30 minutes whilst I watch TV, looking into getting a exercise bike this week to stick behind the couch to do whilst watching my shows. The powerball is working at making me tone my arms, back, neck and chest area...lost my double chin in 3 weeks with this little baby. But its not reflective in my weight?
Also have lined up walking dates with the husband and the dogs. Plan on going slow at first say 30 minutes 3-4 times a week and then bumping it up as I become too comfortable to push myself, but its getting dark now by the time we get home so the opportunity to do outdoor activities are dwindling.0 -
Wish you all the best.0
