Am i wrong to not worry to much about what i eat as long as i don't go over my calories and exercise? I'm afraid if i deprive myself I'll quit.

Calories are calories...just stay under your limit. That said...while there is nothing wrong with an occasional treat, eating healthier choices pays off in the long run. Never tell yourself you cant ever have something you love, but choose not to have it so often.0

I don't deprive myself, but I do eat healthy. And that includes 1/4 cup or so of ice cream pretty often.
If I eat things with too much easily digestible sugar or starch, I find I don't lose. But it's more important to keep at it than to be perfect.
I also found that when I kept strictly to my calories I HAD to eat healthy, because if I wanted to eat an ice cream or something else I wanted I had to be very careful about things like bread or potatoes or rice or basically anything with sugar.
And I had to eat sweets in small, small amounts.0 -
Depends....how healthy do you want to be!? If you eat 1200 calories of fried foods, candy and junk food versus 1200 caloires of clean foods like salads, lean protein..ect...how will you feel. Crazy when you cut your carbs and start eating clean how much you lose quicker...same calories but so much healthier and wholesome for your body. Also remember how are body stores fat...sugar make your body produce insulin..which when in large amounts stores as fat the extra......so....weather we stay in our calories range...it still has to go somewhere. You will see much better results by making small goals for yourself...like one sweet thing a day. Good luck!0

I do well on calories but I'm usually over on everything else. Today was really bad for sodium because I put terriyaki sauce on my chicken. I'm also exclusively breastfeeding so I'm a little afraid of going to far under my calories and hurting my supply. Thanks for the input0

When I was nursing (both kids, 3 years each) it took me 6 months to take off the pregnancy weight, but then I could not eat enough to keep up with the kids and the nursing. Both times I went to my lowest adult weights. After I hit 40 I eventually gained it back, but it was definitely what kept me slim as a younger adult.
THEN I'd say eat as healthy as you can and enjoy your foods. Just as in pregnancy, you can get real drops in your blood sugar from nursing, so keeping healthy snacks around - nuts are particularly good - are good for you and your moods and also, eventually for your kids.
Good luck and enjoy.0
