Apparently I have an hourglass figure. Ehhh nahh0

Hourglass! I've always been an hourglass, bigger or smaller. Apparently if there is 10 inches between your waist measurement and your hips/boobs that makes you one.... All of my bikinis are the ones they suggested, if only we ever got the weather for a beach here!0

I'm already knew I was an hourglass & the calculator agrees, but I'm not traditional one.I am a high hip hourglass (also called spoon or figure 8) I gain weight around my high hips are, in my lower belly & love handles the most. Upper arms & upper thighs come next. Mid thigh down, my legs are pretty thin. And I don't gain much in my natural waist. I lose in my natural waist first. I have a smaller bust, but my shoulders & hips are proportional I feel & I go in at the waist. I have no booty either.0

Exactly... I need to now post for a support group.0 -
I'm a Rectangle! :-(0

nods
there's a concrete definition for "hourglass" and very few women (even those whom are curvy and might look "hourglass" actually meet the criteria.
however, in the new spirit of vanity sizing and lets make everyone feel better about themselves certain types like "pear" and "apple" are no longer used as much (as they now have negative connotation -not sure why as pears are freaking gorgeous and ultra feminine-) and just about everyone is now an "hourglass" according to most calculators.
So what is the criteria actually? Because if I dont meet it. I am an undefined shaped then :P That is if the only options are straight, apple, pear & hourglass. Because I certainly don't fit the straight, apple, or pear shapes at all lol0 -
bump for when I have time0

criteria:
bust must be 10 inches or more larger than waist
hips must be 10 inches or more larger than waist
bust and hips must be fairly close in measurement.
to me you are straight with curves! straight doesn't actually mean straight!0 -

Technically you're supposed to have a 10 inch difference between your waist and hip/boobs measurements to be an hourglass. For example, 34/24/34.....
I would say you're more a rectangle - your hips and shoulders are the same width apart but you don't have a large bust or a very tiny waist, although you're fairly small all over0 -
Tried it but I already knew I am hour glass shaped. Triangle or halters work best for me and I have never wore a full piece in my whole life.
Really am hour glass:
bust: 36
waist: 25
hips: 350 -
I got rectangle.....i have to admit, its actually funny but we will see once the weight comes off.0

I'm a pair. No push up bras here. I also love high rise bikini bottoms I find they make my legs look longer!0

hmmm, mine said hourglass also. I suspect people on here will disagree with this calculator. I am at least pear (a very small, slight pear). My waist is 23 inches, so it stems from there.0
-
Precisely. We all win! ;D0 -
No bikini for me lol. I got Pear shape.0
-
I agree, nice photo!0 -

The hourglass bikinis are ugly0

Hah, said I'm a rectangle and that is so far from the truth - anyone who knows me will attest to that. FAIL0

I agree, nice photo!

i did not even look.
The whole "everyone is an Hourglass" theory makes me seriously question their fashion advice!0 -
Precisely. We all win! ;D
I'm not really sure how that helps anyone!0 -
Pretty neat! Thanks for sharing.
I'm a pear and must say, I really like there swimwear selections for that shape.0 -
Hmm so now I'm an hourglass? I consider myself a pear.0
