How to resist binges

I have a real sweet tooth and have no self restraint for sugars. But also want to stay away from the low cal snack that are heavily processed because its unnatural to have a sweet cake that is like only 50 cals. Is there any hints how to satisfy my sweet tooth without feeling the urge to continue...

Fruit or just go cold turkey off sweets until you get it out of your system and can stop the cravings.

I don't know if its true or not, but I've heard if you crave sweets a lot, you may be needing more protein. While I do give into my chocolate cravings at times, it really helps to eat your favorite fresh fruit instead. Also, I binge much much less if I eat a sufficient amount of good food at my meals.

The best thing I can do is not buy the stuff. There are some treats I can keep in the house without binging on (sugar free pudding, Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches, Dove dark chocolate). When I want a treat I either eat what I have, or actually have to g to the store to get it. It is a lot less convenient to binge on if I have to go buy it :)
I also find if I am eating enough good quality food and exercising, I am much less likely to binge.
And evenings is when I like to binge. Hopping on here and reading success stories or just going to bed also stops it.

does fruit not do it for you? what about working some of your favorite sweet treats into your diet? Not necessarily every day, but maybe make Monday and Friday your sweet treat day? Then you don't have to worry about binging on them as you know Monday/Friday is just around the corner and you can have it then.

If you are an evening binger, go to bed earlier. You can't eat while you're sleeping.
