Basically, as you lose weight, you'll start to require less and less calories to maintain your bodily functions. So after a while, the number of calories you're eating right now to lose weight will become the amount you need to just maintain your weight. This is an oversimplified statement, I'm sure, as it also depends on muscle mass, activity, and the thermal effects from food you're eating. But yes, at a certain point, you would need to start starving yourself to lose any more weight. But don't worry, that won't happen unless you get to a very low body fat percentage, in which case you should not want to lose any more weight. And at the same time, don't worry about wasting away if you stick to your routine, because your needs will change to accomodate your new body. Does that make any sense?
And to everyone else, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.0 -
Yes, I think there comes a point where you reach such low body fat that you can no longer lose weight and be healthy, or lose weight in a healthy way.
I peeked at your diary and you're not eating in a healthy way now (way too many days where you eat less than 600 calories - what's that about?). What are your stats and what are you hoping to accomplish?0 -

Thank you for your answer! The reason Im not eating as much is becauae I feel content with what Im eating. My body doesnt feel starved. So thats what Im eating. I know that I need to work on eating more, even of im not hungry. Im aware of all that. Im currently 5ft and 124 pounds. My goal is to get to 95 (I checked and at 95 pounds my BMI will still be in a healthy range)0 -

Generally speaking as you get leaner, fat becomes a less preferential fuel source. For many people it can also get increasingly difficult due to adaptive mechanisms.0 -

Can tell you're kinda new around here. I can save you a few keystrokes on any future posts. Leave this ^^^ part out. Believe me, they WILL correct you anyway. :laugh:0 -
Doesnt eating that few calories cause the metabolism to slow down like it does during a famine? I could be wrong.0

Healthfully, yes. There will come a time where you can only lose weight by eating in an unhealthy way (aka anorexic). Technically you can keep losing weight until you are skin and bones, but that doesn't mean that's what your body wants to be!0
