Do you ever feel like you don't do enough?

I'm having a real battle with myself at the moment about how much (or little?!) exercise I do. On a daily basis I tend to do my 30DS DVD (I'm almost on to Level 2), a brisk walk with my dogs for about 20/30 minutes and maybe about 40 minutes on my stationary bike. On top of this I go to the gym a few times a month.

I eat about 1800 calories a day, give or take, and I eat very very clean.

Is that enough?

First, any of those activities are better than nothing! Second, it seems like you get a lot of activity - which is a good thing as long as the need to workout is not overshadowing the rest of your life. IMHO, you are doing a wonderful job. If you can, keep it up...However, if you slack off every now and then, don't beat yourself up over it. I have two things that seem to work for me:
    1) moderation to prevent burnout
    2) 80/20 rule....80% of the time I'm good (eating healthy/ getting my workouts in), the other 20% I enjoy myself (usually, its the holidays or a special event).

Sounds great! You should definitely be losing.
  • I battle with myself almost every day because it doesn't feel like I do enough. I try to do about 500 sit ups/press ups a day too.
I think it's all in my bhead!!

Its more than enough for most people.

A recommendation in the UK is 30 mins exercise a day minimum, and you are smashing that so I wouldn't worry. In terms of weight loss if that's what you are aiming for then it just needs patience now, and don't push yourself too far.

It's definitely all in your head. You are absolutely doing enough. You are getting strength training and cardio. If you don't feel like you are losing enough, you could cut the calories down to maybe 1500, but it sounds like you are doing a good amount of exercise.

I always feel like I should do more. I go to Bikram yoga classes 3-4 times a week and walk at least 30 minutes a day and I still feel like I need to do more. I struggle, I work 60 hours a week and have two kids.

Yes! Especially if you are doing those at different times of the day rather than back-to-back. Getting exercise and staying fit is extremely important, but it should not be all you ever do. There is more to life than just working out. Or at least there should be.

I'm confused. Are you seeking an award, or are you seeking health/fitness goals or what?

ETA: I do *none* of those things, eat 2000 calories a day, and I consider it good for me.
