What percentages would you assign to these three factors in getting a healthy, attractive physique. You can have other factors (such as hormones), as long as the percentages add up to 100%.

I think they are: 20%/50%/30%

I would add environment to my percentages. I have a long history of exercising with my family, doing sports, dancing. I've been paid, essentially, for being in shape. I've taught dance and exercise. I live in a place where it's easy to get out and be active. My entire life is set up in a way that makes it easy for me to stay fit.

    20% diet
    20% exercise
    20% genes
    40% environment.

I had washboard abs, once. A very long time ago. Would not want to go through the diet and training regimen again just to get them. So much more to life than that.

As far as the percentages? Just guessing, 50-55% exercise/ 35-40% diet/ 5% genes = 100%? Keep in mind that what a fit/healthy body looks like is different for everyone. I think everyone has the ability to have a fit and healthy body shape but what it takes to achieve that is a different recipe for everyone.

    90% diet
    10% exercise

Genetics has nothing to do with it.

I think genetics plays a part.

I lose fat and retain muscle mass a lot easier than most people I know. My father does no deliberate exercise (although he has an active job) and eats like a pig and has a 6 packI at the age of 58 and I take after him a little. I am just greedy and lazy so have put on weight :-).

    I'd say genetics 20 / exercise 30 / food 50
