How often should I be weighing myself?

Some days I find myself obsessing over the scale to see if I've lost even 1/2 pound!! Some days I swear the scale is lying to me... It will say I lost a pound and then two days later I'm back where I was... Should I hide the scale for two weeks at a time?

Once a week or once every two weeks. On the same day of the week, at the same time.0

Same here, I try to weigh myself once a week on the same day, in the morning after getting out the shower.0
-
I go with once a month.0
-
Every day, first thing in the morning after you use the bathroom.
More data = better trends.0 -
I weigh myself once a week "seriously" but sometimes I check it 2-3 times a week, particularly if I didn't have the loss I was expecting when I weighed myself at my regular time.0

Pre-poop, post-poop, and always post-binge. It's fun.
Kidding.
Once a month. The scale is a lying, deceptive POS.0 -
I weigh in every morning but I'm really not sure if that's the right thing to do, I just can't help myself lol I've heard once a week is the way to go, like every monday or whatever day works best for you0

I weigh my self 2 to 3 times a week if not everyday to see how my mood and food habits effect my weight. Along with motivation to kick bum in workouts0

I started doing it every two weeks. This year, I've just done it once a month. I find I focus more on the process and less on the results (I figure if I focus on the process, the results will take care of themselves.)0

I weigh daily. Always first thing in the morning, before I have eaten anything and naked before I get in the shower. I won't touch it any other time of day. There is too much fluctuation for that.
I feel I have to weigh every day because my weight does change so much. I can swing as much as 4 pounds from day to day. How would I know if my weight was up or down if I don't check it every day ?0 -
I weigh once a week on sunday morning. If I'm too busy Sunday morning, for some reason I wait til wedneday morning and then start again sunday. This isn't expert advice just my routine for weighing myself.0
-
I weigh every 2 weeks, otherwise I'm always on the scale myself.0
-
Once a week - same day in the morning b4 breakkie with minimal clothing...0
-
I weigh daily as well but only record it on Wednesday morning always in just undergarments0
-
I weigh myself everyday but only log it once a week. It works for me. You just have to figure out whats best for you.0
-
Because I am on a diet, I weigh myself once a week (every Sunday morning). When I am not dieting, it is more like once a month, ok maybe once every 2 months.0
-
Only weigh yourself if you're consistent with your food, exercise, and sleep... otherwise you may have to switch to just body tape measurements.0
-
I usually weigh once a week, as soon as I get up0

YES! Weigh in once a week, same day, same time. Don't allow the scale to dictate to you how you should feel about your body!0 -
do what works for you, just keep in mind that weight fluctuates a LOT so the scale can actually lie
water weight, TOM, salt intake... one day i had a 3 kg gain and loss. ONE DAY hahaha.
personally i like every week or so. and also try to go by measurements; they are usually much more accurate.0 -
Totally agree. I weight myself every morning.0
-
I say once a week.
Don't worry TOO much about the scale. I would take measurements as well. I prefer that number
Weigh yourself when you wake up.0 -
I was weighing myself every day and being kind of crazy about it so my doctor told me to only weigh myself once a month.0

I weigh myself every day, but only log it here once a week.
A person's body weight can fluctuate by a couple of pounds a day, regardless of whether you had a good day or a bad day the day before. And I'd hate to only weigh myself once a week, have it be one of those "fluctuating" days, painting an inaccurate picture of how I'm actually doing. Weighing myself every day gives me a better idea of where I really am. If I'm unusually high or unusually low one day, I don't worry about it because of the day before, the day before that, etc.0 -
I weigh in every Saturday morning, after using the restroom and before I eat or drink anything. I have also found that I need to weigh in after enough sleep. For example, I wake at 4am Monday through Friday for work. So I usually wake up around 5am on the weekends out of habit. If I go to the bathroom and weigh then, I'm about 2 pounds heavier than I am later that morning when I wake again!!!
Sounds crazy I know but I've done this on several occasions and it's always the same. I weigh less after getting more sleep. They do say getting enough sleep helps with you weight loss...0 -
Everyday is rediculous!! absolutly obsurd! I say once or twice a month (my opinion). weight fluctuates to much to do daily weigh in (which is why im documenting for two weeks to show everyone why not to). I say do it on the day you dont feel bloated and first thing in the morning naked.0

I weigh every morning. I actually track it in a spreadsheet and graph it - yeah that is what you get for being a numbers guy.
