When do you STOP eating?

I know a lot of people have a cut off time in the evening when they have their last meal. I'm struggling with that since my bedtime is generally around midnight, sometimes later. When it your "cut-off" time to eat and how do you curb hunger afterwards? Does the body adapt?

i don't have a cut off time. I just count my calories, and get my exercise in through the course of my day. If I want chips and salsa at midnight, and I have the calorie allotment for it, i am having chips and salsa.

I don't have a cut off time. Last night I didn't workout until 9pm and I ate a banana and peanut butter afterwards at 10.

That is generally what I have been doing, too.

My "cut off" time is when I go to bed. I will usually have a piece of fruit or something.

When I run out of calories. Sometimes it's an hour before bed and sometimes it's minutes before.

I have a general guideline. I start work pretty early, so I go to bed around 8 or 9. I eat my dinner around 4 or 5 and dont eat past 6.

    Ha ha ha love it
  • Around 7:00
  • I have no cut off time I think I once read you shouldn't eat late but bedtime is my quiet peaceful time so I purposely save calories for my nighttime snack.

No cut-off time here either. I eat until almost all my calories for the day are consumed, brush my teeth, and go to bed.

I actually quit eating when I am no longer hungry which usually is about 6pm. very rarely do I eat after that unless I am eating empty calories with zero nutrients

I wake up at 4:30am so I go to bed quite early.

I try to not eat at least 2-3 hours before bed, so ideally no later than 6pm-7pm.

I ate celery smothered in peanut butter minutes before I went to bed. I eat until my calories are gone. ^.^
  • It really depends on how many calories I have left. Sometimes I'll snack after dinner, but most of the time I'm good to go until the morning.

The time you eat does not affect anything. Eat when you're hungry or need refueling, don't when you aren't.
  • I have a cut-off time of 8PM. However, I sometimes do not stick to it. If there is something going on where I need to change up my schedule, I will shorten or extend it accordingly. Generally I don't eat 3 hours before going to bed. Bedtime is the time for sleeping, regenerating and resting... not digesting.. at least i like to tell myself this... LOL

My general rule is to eat 3 to 4 hours before i plan on going to bed. If a snack is needed thats fine but nothing over 100 calories. I think it just all depends on your schedule. I do NOT like to eat with food on my stomach that makes me feel full.

I don't have a cut off time, I just always try to plan out my day and ensure I'm getting good sized and filling meals throughout the day.

No cut off time. I plan my meals and calories accordingly. I'll eat up until I crawl into bed to go to sleep.

My bedtime is really variable. Somewhere between midnight and 5am is normal for me (no reason, just a night owl). I try to stop eating about 4 hours before going to bed, and always stop eating by midnight at the latest. It's not so much that midnight is a special time, it's just that I know I will be going to be 1-4 hours after that, and I want my food to have time to settle.
