If I am already drinking 9 large glasses per day, will I lose more weight if I increase my water intake?

No. Water doesn't make you lose weight or we'd all be thin.0

Except you need it to lose weight....0

not really. You need it to be healthy. Most of us don't drink enough water, so our bodies hang on to it when they can. When one first increases the water intake, the body realizes, hey, I'm getting this regularly, I don't need to store so much! So you lose weight at first from that water weight.
It's also a good tool to use when you are hungry but don't have calories to eat/are saving them for dinner/etc. In that you can drink a whole bunch of water--0 calories!--and fill up your stomach.
However water itself doesn't make you lose fat.0 -

Water metabolizes stored fat, which in turn helps speed up your metabolism, not to mention water also helps the body rid itself of toxins in your body. Hope this helps.0
