The Most You've Ever Gone Over By Is...?

There was something in the neighborhood of 10k-not sure if that's how much I ate or how much I was over. I consider being over by "a couple hundred" as meeting my calorie goal. I need to see overages with 4 digits before I consider it as a potential problem.0

For me I am super careful and I log everything and if I don't have access to mfp I write it down and log later. I went over by about a 100 the other day and it's just not worth it to me. I had lost all my weight one time before and one moment of spurlge for me set me off course and got me in a very back mindset so I gained it all back. I am not going to do that again.0
-
Once after a day of eating nonstop, with no way to even estimate what it was, I entered 1,000,000 Quick Add Calories.
MFP told me "if every day is like today, in 5 weeks you will weigh 10,257 pounds."
Thanks for this! :laugh:0 -
Don't panic, Furious Pete is living proof that an occasional 'slip up' doesn't have to derail your efforts...

Oh wow. I've only gone over by a couple hundred max. Just curious, what sends y'all thousands over? Fast Food? (like is it small portions with large caloric values or large portions of something small?)
Because a lot of us still deal with the mental battle of binge eating. It's not as easy as just stopping.
For me it was probably when we were at Disney World. I have no idea how many calories I ate, but I know I walked a ton of them off. We walked 13 miles one day! Between our anniversary, Food and Wine Festival and the dining plan....YUM. But it was well worth it.
ETA- I'm sure there have been plenty of other times. Ever have a great night of heavy drinking followed by Waffle House? That'll do it too!0 -
I cant even fathom how people have gone over by 3000+. I can kind of understand going over by a 1000 if you went out to eat and had some really crappy food for one meal or had way too much alcohol but I think i'd get sick eating more than that.
I have never gone over by more than 300 and that was when I was eating 1200 daily and I think it was on some holiday.0 -
Since I've been logging religiously? Hmm...probably 2,000 to 3,000 OVER my TDEE.
But during the Thanksgiving/Christmas time frame, I typically don't log my food - mainly because I want to enjoy the time with my family and not be overly concerned about how many calories I'm eating, or many I have left to eat or have gone over. I also stay religious with my exercise routine and honestly, just don't worry about the weight. I'm betting there are some days in there where I've eaten close to 10,000 cals in a day. :shrug:0 -

It's actually pretty easy. Add a few handfuls of nuts and cheese and that's easily 1,000 cals. Or try having a full day of festivities, you'd be surprised what you can put away in a day.I have never gone over by more than 300 and that was when I was eating 1200 daily and I think it was on some holiday.
For some reason, I doubt this very much. It's crazy easy to go over, especially when you're only eating 1200 a day. Just sayin.0 -
The worst was over by about 2000. Girl Scout Cookies.
Last week I went over by about 1,200 - I should have read the label on those Wagyu beef patties before I bought them.0 -

In that case, I'm confused as to why you're on this site. Clearly not to lose weight or drop body fat, since the idea of overeating is nigh impossible for you.0 -

Around 1,500....I literally could not stomach 000's of calories in one day...even Christmas!
Same but that's more a holiday 3-4 times a year thing.
Now maintenance days...I do those several times a month.0 -
unknown. I don't count those days. They don't exist.
Although I know that Thanksgiving was pretty brutal, full turkey dinner plus 2 bombers of great beer - those alone would have been >1,000, plus dessert. But I enjoyed every moment!0 -
100 cals, maybe?
What makes you guys eat 1000's over? Like once youve gone over do you just give up and go on a massive binge?
Not everyone has anorexic goals. A lot of people like to cut loose once in a while, especially for special occasions like holidays and such. It's pretty easy to add thousands of calories to your diet by drinking 500 calorie bottles of beer for example. Or a can of roasted peanuts (2000+ calories by itself). Or an entire pan pizza (4000+ calories).
Or 9 pecan pies apparently for 27k calories (bravo!)0 -

7k or so0

About two weeks after I started, I ate and logged a 3-day weekend of how I ate pre-MFP. Yeah, I easily ate 3500-5000 per day, which is about 2-4K more than I eat now. Since then, my worst day was around 1500 over. Still a vast improvement from my old ways.0

If you haven't eaten 8000 calories in a day, you haven't lived.
i love this!0 -

Fair point.0 -
I don't know, 1500 to 2k maybe? Mostly on the weekends and as much as I tell myself I'm NOT going to log the calories I still do because it keeps me honest and helps me to (try) and do better the next day.0

So far, the most is about 3500 cals. Easter is coming though and I might beat that.
(ETA: I'm not going to TRY to beat it, but odds are that it will happen.)0 -

Last night I was probably over by about 2,500. I ate my exercise calories and then binged on chocolate and Doritos instead of working out. UGG but I am paying for it today(feel sick!) so it was a good lesson learned!!0

idef 1000's...damn you dry roasted peanuts and tortilla chips with cheese dip chugged down with lots of black rum and ginger beer.0
