Homemade chocolate bar for 85 calories
So, I love chocolate. Love it.
I honestly believe that to a certain degree it's a great indulgence which I sometimes allow myself. But being lactose intolerant and trying to lose weight it really is a forbidden fruit/food. Until I learned a method to make my own chocolate without sugar.
(using this recipe http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/01/15/three-ingredient-chocolate-bars-1/)
But being used to the metric system and recalculating to make just 1 bar I messed up the recipe and made the best accidental discovery since the invention of steam power launching in the Industrial Revolution. If you freeze unsweetened cacao powder, add some splenda and water, shape into bars and freeze you wil essentially get a sugar free, low-fat chocolate bar.
It's so delicious I can't believe everyone isn't eating these, so I thought I'd share.
You'll need
25 grams of dutch-process cocoa(is used blooker) - 85 calories
About 5- 8 grams of liquid sweetener
About 15-20 grams of water
So mix, freeze, and then perhaps thaw for like a minute. You get a 60 gram chocolate bar that's extremely chocolaty and crunchy for 85 calories!
I like to run some water over it so they get their dark brown color back (they tend to turn beige on the outside, still dark on the inside though)
Add anything you like, I like a little vanilla extract and a tiny bit of coffee.

Looks yummy....
what kind of liquid sweetener?0 -
I use an artificial one though probably any one would work (you could experment with honey or agave as well), mine says saccharin and cyclamate on the packaging0
