It has taken me since September 2008 [with a six month maintenance break from June 2009 to Dec 2009] to get here.
Now, my new challenge is to keep the lifestyle going and to find my happy maintenance calories :happy: Having been here before and put it all back on again, I'm not quite willing to trust myself not to track my food with a diary.

And I'm happy! Yes, I feel healthy and fit, but I was reminded again today how much this means to me in terms of mental wellbeing--clothes shopping today was a pleasure, not a tears-inducing outing. For me, being overweight and being depressed went hand-in-hand, one feeding (hah!) the other.

Before:
Over 232lbs (I avoided the scale like it was poison).

    Congrats. :flowerforyou: You've done great. I found that I have to continue to track my calories or I loose track and can put the weight on far easier than it was to take off.

    selbyhutch -- Thank you! It's much more fun to shop now, and I will admit that I make more of an effort to dress better nowadays.

    Preciousoohnana -- I reached my goal the natural way: a calorie-controlled eating plan (I averaged around 1450cals before exercise calories), exercise and eating most of my exercise calories.
